dave.m: Thank you for your illuminating response. I will be getting a new computer soon and have been trying to decide how to organize/rid files saved from my now deceased computer. I used Lightroom since version 2 and have been paying the monthly fee still for the classic version. Your system seems more straightforward for my needs than others that I have read about.

My husband worked on these during the Viet Nam era for about 3 years before they changed to the A7. These were his favorite. I remember the roar as they passed overhead our tiny apartment when we were first married and living near Davis Monthen AFB. This is a great photo!

What is your Lightroom version? I had this problem this week using Lightroom 5, and after online research and chats with Adobe reps, found that that version will not support the newer cameras. I have a new Nikon D500, and have 3 SD cards filled to download (after a 2-week vacation). I had to update to Lightroom Classic (will run on Windows 7 & 8). The Cloud version is only supported on Windows 10, but both are offered in a single download at $9.95 plus tax per month (or an annual charge).
