Thanks for all those photos especially the later ones of the 60's and 70's. In Australia we always seemed to be a coulpe of years behind what was produced in the States. All of our imported cars from the US had to be converted to RHD and the ones here produced locally by the big three (Ford, GMH Holden and Chrysler) were different to those in America even though they were the same shape etc. Prior to 1960 most of our imported cars came from England and were very old designs compared to what came from the States later on. It is very sad to say that we now do not make any cars in Australia as the workers, unions, Government, etc all priced themselves out of competition.

We had a motorhome in the States for 4 years and have some good friends in Pomeroy, a small town in WA. We have travelled all through WA and it is a great state, not too busy and very friendly. We found the northern states and Canada to be similar to Australia.

Hello Joe,
I have a son living in the USA and before Covid my yearly trip was. the States then to Europe or vise versa. We have had some amazing experiences especially in Germany and Italy. We now live in the Gold Coast in Queensland however before that we lived in Nowra in New South Wales, very close to Jervis Bay. As much as we like to travel it is always good to get home.

Regards.
Errol

Seen this car driving down the road when driving to lake for boat tour on the lake while vacationing in Arizona.

From what I remember the Amphicar was made in the early seventies. Wheels magazine did a feature of one (which i have a copy of somewhere). I think the car was based on a Renault
I was in Paris in 2008 and took the following photos of one on a boat. Sorry about the grainy photos.

I was in Rochester PA a few months ago and visited George Eastmans Museum/House.
There is an amazing collection of old cameras and the way cameras have progressed through the years. I thought the Brownie Box Camera was interesting as most of us Australians had one at some time in the 50’s and 60’s.
An old friend of mine got married in 1951 and they took the Brownie Box on their honeymoon. His wife passed away in 2004 and when he was going through her old things he found the camera in a shoe box. He took it in to the camera shop for them to have a look at it and they developed the old Kodak film, the photos came out perfect and were of their honeymoon. Says a lot for Kodak.

Great photos and an interesting story to go with it. There are a lot of great train museums in the States but I have not been to those two
