What an insulting question! You want us to teach you everything about the subject “photography”? You don’t have a large enough memory card or hard drive to record all our answers. Step one - find the shutter release on your camera and press down on it. When you have a more specific question, come back and ask it. Until then, stick with something less challenging like shoveling snow.

Geez, Ray, is it really necessary for you to be such a jackass? Can't you just give the OP a short, generous answer to his question? It is replies like yours that have me reading this board less and less, let alone participating by posting images. Just because you could go out and buy a camera and a lens does not make you the be all and end all of the craft, and certainly gives you no right to act like an arrogant, self important prick. If I was the OP, I would have turned and run after reading your reply to his post. Thankfully there are others here who are more generous and self evolved.

Thanks , I think I have made the decision to stick with the d500. There is a line between needs and wants . The 500 is alot more then I need.

"There is a line between needs and wants." And several thousand dollars. Enjoy your new D500.

I was watching the coverage of President Trump in Florida today and almost could not hear what was being said over the incessant loud clattering of the cameras. One would think that since almost all cameras in use today are digital, it would be possible to create an electronic shutter that was noiseless.

What difference does it make if you could hear him...all the man does is lie incessantly.

Over processed images, especially portraits where skin has been made so beautifully smooth that the sitter looks plastic. Skin has texture, and most of it usually has a few wrinkles. Nothing wrong looking 50 when you're 50, but looking like your 15 when you're 50 is just plain kooky looking.

Judging by the responses of your last 50 or so "jokes" it might be time to find new subject matter- or, something that's new and funny, or at least one one them, new or funny.

Swede, many of us wake up every day hoping to just make it through the day. A little humor here and there helps, no matter if it is old or new, funny or only mildly amusing. Why is it necessary to be so mean spirited towards Graham? If you don't appreciate his contributions, just pass them by--easy enough. But calling him out and ruining his day just makes you look like a jackhole, and we have enough of those people in the world already without adding another.

That's a great question. I guess a lot of people think that will improve their photography. Most probably haven't exceeded the capabilities of their current camera.

Thanks Bob. I was wondering when someone was going to point this out.
