The Galapagos Islands are one of many places on my bucket list. I have done a bit of searching on photo tours there and see that it is quite expensive. Can anyone recommend a tour operator that has the best bang for the buck?

The best is Lindblad Expeditions, they have their own boat, holds 96 passengers and is 300 ft long also a crew of 65.

You clearly missed the point you a have a gun and the animal has nothing, maybe you should try going after it with a knife, that would be more fair but you would probable die and then the Buffalo could hang your head on it's wall. You could have kept your discussion to photography but you chose to bring up the killing so therefore it's open for discussion.

Please move along if you find it offensive and to suggest it better that a person be injured or worse is utterly STUPID. I'm sure you can find a discussion somewhere that is more pleasing.

What did the Buffalo ever do to you that you needed to kill it. Very sad that you seem to think killing animals serves a purpose. It to bad the buffalo didn't get you.

That's cool, what a great camera some years ago I had a M4 and it was the best camera I've ever owned. Eventually I traded it in for Nikon equipment due to the cost of the lens. I had three lens: 50, 90 &135. Got enough to get a Nikon D300 and three lens. Wish I could afford another one but very happy with my Nikon products

happy shooting and post some pics

I am looking for a cloud service for off-site backup of my large files. Would like to hear what people use/have used, good experiences and bad. Thanks for any information and guidance.

Fantastic and I've had to use it twice and no problems, you may also want mirror back with them. That can be a life saver

I was in Spain this year and I used my 24-120 F4 with my D700, great shots light weight & 1 spare battery. It's wide enought and almost long enough, you won't be sorry

I'd like to purchase 1 lens and have narrowed it down to these 3. I have a Nikon D7100. They are the Nikon 24-120F4, Sigma 24-105 F4 and the Sigma 17-50 F2.8. I know the differences in price, weight, MFD, etc. I've seen the DXOmark for the Nikon 24-120 & Sigma 17-50 but none is given for the Sigma 24-105. I am traveling to Spain, so I'd like to shoot everything (inside churches, outdoor bldgs., people, landscapes, etc) a little of everything. What are your suggestions, I can't make up my mind? Ive looked at all the sites recommended(for comparison/reviews) by several UGG members but still undecided. I will be handholding throughout the trip. Your suggestions are very welcomed! Thanks

One lens
Multiple lenses
lense as singular is listed in some dictionaries as an alternate spelling but not by most of the major dictionaries.

Or as those who want to sound like "real in crowd photographers" would put it "I gotta lota glass."

This lens is a little more than I want to spend right now!

I can understand money being an issue, I also have a nikon 18-200 and used it extensively until I got the 24-120. I enjoyed the lens since it was light and had good range and I would recommend it as a good carry around lens.

But the trip-pod socket was not designed to "hold" a heavy lens and camera - it is a trip-pod socket.

Unless you have some safety attachments like domke straps through key rings attached at the strap lugs and then through another key ring attached to the Black Rapid you are asking for trouble.

A professional here lost his , i believe D-300 or D-4? and lens when the tri-pod lug let go.

Black rapid makes a safety strap just for that situation and it will save your camera & lens shuold the tripod lug go.

I'm always plagued by the weight of my SLR/lens around my neck while traveling and walking about all day. I want the camera handy so a belt case isn't going to work. Does anyone know of a strap arrangement that will ease the back pain that I get halfway through the day and still leave the camera ready to shoot?

Thanks!

take a look at Cotton carrier, I use some of there carriers and they are the best with absolutely no weight on your neck or shoulders. i also use black rapid and they have excellent products

Considering either going with the kit lens, 24-120, or spending a little more for the 24-70 f2.8. This will be my first lens for a FX and thus my main lens other than a 70-200 some day and a prime lens for portraits.

What do you think? Go with the 24-120 or the 24-70? I just would rather spend more on the f2.8 if that's the way to go - I mainly shoot landscape and family pics... Thanks.

I have the Nikon 24-120 & Nikon 70-200 both are great lens. I use the 70-200 for sports (wrestling, football and lacrosse) can't beat it. I use the 24-120 for traveling and walk around lens, great lens and really good range for traveling.

Does this sound right? The Nikon D750 is $2296.95 (at B&H) and the D750 w/24-120 f4 lens is $3596.95.
$1300 for the this kit lens sounds like a lot.

The 24-120 is not a kit lens in fact it's a great carry around lens
