I take pictures to help create a memory of specific events and subjects I come across in the course of my day - hence my SanDisK 128GB card. in my Nikon D90.

I can't believe that this discussion is actually generating so much interest - or is that a good thing? Probably. It's getting response from people who rarely post,(like me) and that has got to be good.
If I have ten marbles, and if I get another ten marbles, it is possible I have lost my marbles.

Best wishes all round.

I've got the Nikon18 - 300 and it never leaves my camera. Fantastic lens, copes with everything. Very highly recommended. Just saying..........

Over the years I've had half a dozen or so Nikon APSC cameras with various lenses finishing with my present D5500 with 18-55mm kit lens and 18-300mm (a more useful lens) and in all this time I've NEVER had a problem with dirt/dust on the sensors ! Now every time I change lenses on my Sony A7M2 I have to remove the lens and clean the sensor. This also happened on a previous A7R and an Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk II. Wonder what lesson we can learn from this ??

Hello JohnR.

It's good to see that you have the same equipment as myself. To be honest the only lens I take out with me these days is my 18 - 300. What a brilliant lens that just about covers all my needs. Over the years I have also bought a Nikon 10 - 20 and a used Nikon 80 - 400 which will only work on my D90. Auto focus is very fast on this lens. I take mostly wildlife, and birds on our garden feeders.

Kind regards,

George - Shifnal, England.

A 200-500mm is not a zoom?

Wow, I learn something new every day.

I think the comments you made were meant to be helpful. That's how I saw them.

I think the comments made back to you were offensive. Not really worth a response.

Let's hope that's an end to the bickering. This site has been very helpful to me and lots of others.

Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful pictures. My Father-in Law will be delighted to closely study them. He flew in Lancasters, Wellingtons and Halifax in WW2; He is 96 at the moment.

Kind regards,

Aye! I try to use full manual when the time permits me to fiddle around. I guess the more I do the quicker I will be but sometimes I can't take the risk of missing a good picture. I think I am going to try bracketing if that can be done in Manual.
