About 5 years ago I upgraded from D300 to D810, never looked back and last year before going on a South African safari bought another D810. The comfort zone could be better upgrading to D810 than right away to D850...
I bought a D810 about 5 years ago to do landscapes, wild life and portraits like most other serious photographers and I’m so happy with its overall performance and results, last year when Nikon had a 1000$ off sale, i bought another D810. Super happy...
Simply put: composition is positioning the contents properly so the photograph tells the intended story...
I had a similar dilemma last year, my D810 was five years old, then B&H photo video made a 1000$ reduction in D810 price, bought my second D810 never looked back.An African safari, a New Zealand self drive trip the two D810s were admirably useful.. Good luck what ever you decide...
Again thanks for the comments. My question was would any one that uses Photoshop in Mac and iPad explain the pros and cons.
I like the comments but would appreciate som answers.
I do lots of travel photography.Last Year, February was a self driving three week trip in New Zealand, then a 10 day trip to Galápagos in August and then in October, a three week Safari in Kruger National forest and Tanzania. This March/April I’m traveling to Peru and Costa Rica. So I do a lot of photography with two Nikon 810 bodies and a 24-70mm 2.8 and 300mmF4 lenses.
I’m all the way Mac,iPhone, iPad, Photo shop, Light room Classic kind of a guy. I’m comfortable using Light Room Classic in my Mac and iPad and learning the basics of Photo shop in my Mac. Recently PhotoShop got added to iPad making my inroads in to Photo Shop complicated to say the least. With this background any one that regularly uses Photo shop in a Mac and iPad, please enlighten me. Yes I’m interested in working both RAW and JPEG files.
I have been reading this forum almost daily for the past 4-5 years, enjoying and learning a lot.
I just returned from a three week safari in Kruger National forest and Tanzania. I would strongly agree with PixelStan77. There is dust every where, don’t even think of changing lenses, with the combination of D850 with the 170-400 and D5 with 24-70 you will cover all your needs. I was prepared for a once in a life time experience and wasn’t disappointed at all. Have a great adventure...
My impression speaking to B&H sales persons and local camera shops,is that Nikon sets the price and it has to be followed and generally Nikon sales are at least 3-4 times annually.
I just returned from a safari trip, 4 days in Kruger National forest and 9 days in Tanzania. After considerable research and deliberation, I took two camera bodies, D 810 and just two lenses, 24-70mm f 2.8 and 3oomm pf4 with a 1.4 extender all Nikon.Worked splendid.
