I was looking at software for this at one time. Then I simply tried putting my 7D on a tripod in movie mode and did a slow 360 degree pan. Loaded it into iMovie and edited & exported it as a Quicktime file. It worked great and was much easier and quicker than stitching files together. Quality was good too. Just an idea.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately for me, it's not that simple. I am mounting my GoPro to a drone to photograph a large piece of property for a real estate agent. I wanted to give a 360 degree view from the house to show the view from every window. I guess I can try to hover above the home and do a slow 360 video pan.

It might work, thanks.

Thanks for reply. Didn't try google at all, was hoping to speak to someone that actually uses the software. Guess I should have made that clear.

I'm looking for a program(s) that can stitch a 360 degree pano. Not a normal pano, however. I'm looking for something that creates those "moving" pictures on places like real estate sites. When you move your mouse over the image, the view moves also so you can take a virtual tour of the entire room. Thank you in advance.

I have been considering upgrading my DSLR body from the canon t1i to the Canon 7D. The review of the 7D are excellent and all of my lenses are for the crop sensor. I could really use the faster processing speed. But is it worth the extra weight of over 200 grams.

When I switched from the 10D to the T1i it was an easy and worthwhile change. But is this upgrade worth the extra $$.

Thoughts??

I've had the T2i now for a little over 5 years. I think it's a great camera, and still using it today for 80% of my work. 3 years ago I went to photograph eagles. I was told I would leave with "lens envy" as I only have the 400mm f/5.6 Well, after 9 hours, I left with "body envy". I had the T2i, shooting RAW under the best conditions was 3 fps. The 2 guys flanking me each had 7Ds. They were at 8fps. That second processor makes a world of difference. I use my 7D sparingly to save the shutter count, but it's used for all fast action.

The T3i is the exact same camera as the T2i. I was thinking of getting one just to have when the T2i finally quits. Everything I have, including battery grip, will still work. Your stuff from the T1i might also be usable on the T3i.

I just looked at B&H, and new today is a sell on the 7D. I don't know if you are aware of this or not. It's $200 off, down to $1,299. The main reason I bought mine was because it was on sale for $1,250. It really is a great camera. There's a reason it was introduced 50 years ago and still in production.

This sale price includes a free extra battery and a 16 Gb compact flash card.

I am looking to purchase a new---not used or refurbished---entry-level DSLR with one prime lens and one zoom lens. I've read a bazillion reviews but what I want right now is your humble opinion with the camera make/model and size lenses to get. Just pretend it's YOU going to get it for yourself as a first-time DSLR buyer and you know exactly what you want. Oh, and you have about $1300.00 to spend. The type of photography you'll be doing is just general type of stuff. And one last thing, you have no loyalty to any one particular manufacturer and you also have no previously purchased lenses or equipment from days gone by. OK, pour it on....

The Canon T3i & T5i are great cameras for the money. I own, and still shoot, the T2i & it's almost identical to the T3i so I know it's a great camera.

The T5i kit with an 18-135 IS STM lens is currently $949. You could add the 85mm f/1.8 for another $400. You would have a great, fast prime lens and a very adequate zoom.

There are so many good kits on sale and so many wonderful and affordable (they can't all be L) that there is probably 4 or 5 combos I'd be happy with.

The Canon kits (T3i & T5i) are currently coming with a free shoulder bag and class 10 memory card. They are also adding additional discounts if you bundle in some software with them.

Check out the link below and don't be fooled by the term "dental". This kit may be used by anyone, especially someone looking to do some macro work. This lens would also work great for portraits.

I tend to agree but don't like false assumptions. We are not broke and are far from it. We owe most of the money to ourselves and only we can call in the debt.

We are unwilling to pay for what we bought. Raise taxes. We have some 138 million tax payers in the US. Say we went back to the Clinton tax rates and we had a surcharge of say just $100 per year and that was set aside to pay down the debt. I think the debt would disappear pretty fast.

To think just some short time ago before Bush was first elected the problem was with the enormous surplus we would have! Squandered that pretty fast under voodoo economics!

AWESOME!!! Raise taxes & add a surcharge!!

The libs answer to everything. ".....just $100 a year." You are awfully free with my money.

Let's not forget our government's track record with "temporary" fees and taxes.

Wow, FOX really has a follower here. You're losing your grip on reality, dude. You have to read different sources to be informed.

BTW What do you dislike most about the Gov? The fact that he eliminated the state deficit?? The fact that he lowered the unemployment rate to the lowest in years?? Or maybe the fact that he was shocked when he learned around 75,000 state employees had vehicles completely paid for by us taxpayers??

Oh, now I get it. You somehow suckle from the teet.

I have the Canon 100mm macro & love it. I have recently read more than one review that has put that Tamron 90mm ahead of this Canon. If this is true, the Tamron must be a spectacular lens. As someone here mentioned, I also have an old Mamiya 55mm f/1.8 that I reverse mount to the front off my macro. This is definately tripod stuff, at least for me. This Mamiya lens is about $35 on ebay last I checked. You can even mount it to your current lens and all the "auto" stuff works.

As Screamin Scott has mentioned, light is a huge help. I'll show you an example that would not have been possible without flash. This was the T2i, 100mm macro, hand held flash with 5x7 softbox, and a trigger.

This was taken in the middle of a bright sunny day (under a tree).

After studying the bridge camera choices, it seems that I need two cameras. An SX50 for traveling with tour groups and a DSLR for fast moving grandchildren in all sorts of lighting conditions. I love the telephoto and macro on the fly but low light issues are troublesome (Powershot S3 IS). After borrowing my friends D5000 I am spoiled with how forgiving it is even as a point & shoot on auto. Any thoughts or suggestions here? Maybe I should fish more and try harder at golf :o) I could show some of my efforts but feel a bit intimidated by the quality of work shown on the hog.

Don't worry, we don't bite. I owned the SX50 but sold it. Nothing wrong, just with 2 bodies and 6 lenses, I never used it. It all depends on budget. I suggest to people to start with some sort of kit (T3i & 18-55mm ???), then save $$$ as you learn your camera. Once you've learned your camera, you will have a better idea of what type of shooting you will do most often. This will determine your first "good" lens. Macros or portraits or whatever.

The SX50 is almost $400, and that is all it will ever be. A kit, however, will cost just slightly more and can grow and grow with each new lens. There is another reason I sold the SX50. Once you get use to the immediate 8fps shutter of the 7D, it's tough to go back to a P&S.

Besides, golf pisses me off and fishing gets me drunk.

Ok, so I'm feeling a little dumb and very confused. I am in the market for a 50mm prime lens. I shoot with a canon, so my choices are:

1) f1.8 $100 ish
2) f1.4 $380 ish
3) f1.2 $1600 ish

I know there has to be more difference in them then just the f stop. Can someone help? I tried talking to people at best buy (not a camera store, I know) but they were NO help at getting me to understand the differences. Help me please! LOL

I have watched several instructional videos done by pros, many of them say the Canon 50mm f/1.4 is a better, sharper lens than the 50mm f/1.2 L.

Also, someone mentioned the 85mm f/1.8. This is an awesome lens!!

This is old news...but the sad fact is that Bush talked tough for seven years and Bin Laden laughed at us from his sanctuary in Pakistan, in the safety provided by Bush's good friend Musharaff.

Most of the people here hate Obama and cannot bring themselves to give him credit for anything-but they cannot change this fact: Obama did no tough talking and just quietly took care of business.

Bin Laden still sleeps with the fishes.

It's tough to give credit to the teflon prez. Absolutely nothing is his fault. Benghazi, IRS, etc, etc, etc............... His administration is a joke, and so are all his voters. I can see people being duped the first time, but a second term is just proof of stupidity.

At least Bush was reading to children. You would of had to pull BamBam off the golf course (or get him back into the country from one of his monthly vacations). You still want to blame Bush for everything. Let's just keep ignoring the fact that Billary had two chances to get Bin Laden and passed on both. You attack Bush for not bringing him to justice, but your buddy Slick Willy could have prevented it!!

I've seen this show, but have not seen it on lately. When I was watching, I think I saw all of them because they are all repeats to me. Art Wolfe also has a great show.

I want to see a show where they actually show you how everything is done. I understand why they don't.
