Have had my D850 since introduction. Great and durable camera. Yes, it is heavy.
I have the following FX lenses:
60mm f2.8, 105 f2.8, 14-24 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 28-300 f3.5-5.6, 200-500 f5.6
I get tired hand holding the D850 and 200-500 f5.6. But I just remembered I am almost 80.
Nice capture. Don't be afraid to increase your shutter speed to 1/1400 or higher to stop motion.
Try underexposing the image. The moon is very bright. You should be able to go as slow as 1/125 second and ISO 100. Aperture of f11 is a good place to start. F8 may be as low as you can select as I have the same camera and lens. Image from 9/1/23 attached.
Lovely young ladies. Time to start checking on Convents in Switzerland.
I have had terrific luck using a Flash Bounce Card. I have all of the flash mounts listed in the responses and have the best success with the Flash Bounce Cards in small rooms and tight corners. I suggest you keep the subjects 2-4 feet from the walls. I usually shoot f/8, 125/sec. auto-ISO.
Great shots. Wonderful capture of the Bald Eagles, eyes are especially sharp.

A Calming Waterfall in the Woods.
Location of the Waterfall, please? Great image.
Similar event happened with my D90.........not worth fixing. Buy a new camera.
Buy the longest reach that you can afford to purchase. Also consider the weight if you are going to hand hold as this is best for BIF.
Nikon Re-furb sale ends today. Bought my D850 there. The camera was new and had "0" shutter actuation's.
It has been a great reliable camera.
I have both the D800 and D850. In my experience the EN-EL15 "WILL NOT" work with the D850.
BTW.........D850 is an outstanding camera with many more capabilities than the D800.
I wish I had your talent to capture your flower images.
