Thank you very much-I have copied your response and will give it to her and help her set up the lenses- thanks again! I have to retract my animosity to the best Buy clerk. He was right apparently.

She bought the camera a year and a half ago but has not had it out of the box until this week. My question should have been can she use the dx lenses from her D7200? Personally I think Best Buy should be held accountable for shady practices by its salespeople. At least this is a reason to be very very careful buying anything from them. There are far too many reputable stores to buy from, especially cameras. I will suggest to her to look on KEH for a very good used lens for her camera, she is on a limited budget. I have used them and have been completely satisfied with them and the lenses. I want to thank all of you for your help, I appreciate it very much.

She is a disabled vet who in my opinion got taken! If I had known her then I would have stopped this. So much for Best Buy-thanks for your help, I wanted to make sure of my facts before I said anything to her.

A friend of mine has a Nikon D850 when she bought it new the Best Buy clerk told her that her VR lenses from her D7200 could be used on it. I read the D850 Manual, and it does NOT list the VR lens for being used on the D850. My thinking is that she will have to buy new lenses for her D850. Anyone know for certain? Thanks

Ignore the Windows 10 warning about formatting your card in Windows. I get notice on SD cards USB etc unless you can’t download your photos it’s not a problem. Always format your card in your camera for taking photos. Do however check your card reader if you have problems downloading photos then the card, my suggestion anyways.

I needed a manual for a Tokina lens I recently bought used. I went online to Tokina website, used customer service email to ask for it. They replied the next day that they would mail one out. Try the website, customer service is great.

Ok, I am assuming the "plugin" port is what you are referring to as being broken? If so like everyone says buy a new case, Newegg has them fairly cheap, get a USB 3.0 or 3.1 as they are the new standard and faster transfer rates then USB 2.0, even if you do not have USB 3.0 on your computer doesn't matter they are backward compatible. If the "plug-in port" on the hard drive is broken, take it to a reputable computer store, they can recover your files, and do it cheaper than most online places. I use a backup drive on my computer, also an external hard drive and I use "Backfire" online backup service. It's only $50 a year, unlimited storage, easy to restore any or all files, everything is encrypted, and servers are well protected. Recommended by most computer websites. I do not like the "big Guys" they have been hacked and then denied it. Anyway personal preference. I hope this helps. A little patience you will get your photos back, trust me.

Attached is a photo of film negatives that my older sister found in a box. I have never seen anything like these- 0.5" wide, 1.0" long each negative. Anyone know where I could get film negatives developed? especially these? (She has no idea what camera was used to take the photos.)

I dumped the Nikon strap; I dropped a camera once using it. I have a sling strap now; it's much safer. It hooks on the bottom of the camera and loops over your shoulder and drops down to your waist. It has safety hook to make sure the camera is always attached. It allows you to hold the camera much easier to take shots. They do not cost much on Amazon and fit any camera with a bottom screw hole.

I have a Nikon D5600. I am not good enough at photography to buy a full frame at $3000, I would not be able to use it to its full advantage. I can, however, learn to use the 5600, then when I get the money I can advance to a full frame. There is no point to buying expensive technology if you cannot use it.
