Thanks for the post. I served from 1960-1966 but my duty post was in France.
I wish the focus had been a bit sharper so I could appreciate the nose art when I zoomed in.
Am I missing something? In picture #2, the sky with the cloud (everything above the straight line) is a different blue from the sky beneath the straight line.
I enjoyed them all but especially#3 (although I would be tempted to eliminate the very top portion with the colored glass and concentrate just on the doors) and the great shot of the row of houses.
I still have my Nikon FTN from 1971. Took it on a photo safari to Kenya and Tanzania in March 1972 - all Kodachrome slides (1100 or so). It was also with me all over Europe, USSR (including Trans-Siberian Railroad), Australia and New Zealand, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. Got my first DSLR in 2005 (D200), now shooting with D7200.
I'm interested in that game ball from Michigan. What is the story behind that? I attended Univ. of Michigan for 6 years - played in Marching Band the first two years, then went into the Dental School. I did general dentistry my 2 years on active duty in France, then Oral Surgery for 48 years!
Not a faux pas at all... that was the only thing that was a detraction for me. Wonderful picture!
My only time in the Azores was extremely brief. I was enroute in March, 1961, from Maguire AFB in New Jersey to Paris for my two year Army assignment in the SW of France (Fontenet). But... that's another story. We landed at Lajes Field to refuel late at night in a blinding rainstorm. We deplaned and some of us headed to the Officer's Club for a few beers before resuming our flight to Paris.
What part of MI? Northville here.
Guess you haven't been to the Big House in Ann Arbor!
Isn't the title of this section "Photo Gallery?". What am I missing?
You had better skies than I did. But of course I took the same shot.
Not scary at all. In July 2007 my son and I went to the TOP of the south tower. What a thrill! Took lots of pictures but it was a hazy day. The previous day would have been perfect.
Thanks. That does help. I will check it out as soon as I get home (at Dr's appt).
Thanks. I have read it but I'll give it another shot.
