Good suggestion. I am not a Pnotos fan, but have been surprised how well it works. They have improved over time and good for the run of the mill editing.

I have had Olympus for decades including the PL1, OMD5, Pen-F. I was amused when they came out with their latest OMD5 stating it was the lightest, which is a consideration for many of us older users; however, their statement can be miss leading since I believe it would only pertain to the OMD5 Style since the Pen-F and well as the other Pen cameras a lighter. I also found, that my Fujifilm X-T30 is a little smaller and lighter than all of them, so when they make a claim it is wise not to take their word and investigate for yourself.

Being 90, I readily understand your circumstances and in the process of switching cameras. I presently have the about 7 cameras, but that soon will be reduced. I do have the Sony Rx100VII since it came out and have no complaints since it has most of the items your looking for. There are also a few Canon and Nikon, point/shoot with limited zoom that do well and are light and easy to carry. They continue to come out with improvements in lighter packages, weight and size are one of my top issues. I like going to Best Buy because they usually have a large variety and selection and you can see and handle the items which is often different than buying or looking on line, which I do. Also, I found some good prices on Ebay. Of course, its still hard to get the quality you want in a smaller camera, but sometimes that doesn't matter since the pictures varies so much according to the different screens and the new editing programs are amazing to help your style. Also, some of the mirroless cameras are coming out with smaller and lighter bodies and lenses. So the best suggestion is go, see and hold, that definitely will help.

I have had little need for warranties with cameras; however, that has not been the case with household appliances, electronics products, especially Apple, in fact, I have used every Apple warranty I purchased and the 27" computer I am typing on is a warranty replacement, so it all depends. Also, cameras update their products and firmware thru the internet. I recently purchased a Fujifilm product thet had to be update, sort of a repair within a few months, of course it was a new model, so those things can be expected.

People are going to have to learn to distinguish between certain negaive political groups which most countries have and the down to earth and great citizens, almost like themselves, that each country has. I have spent over thirty years in the military and found most citizens of countries a pleasure to be friends with. Unfortunate, in many cases, the citizens, although great, unfortunately do not previal in the political arena and usually because they don want to get involved often because of the way they will be treated or the life style. I had the unique experience of spending seven months in the Med. and then off to five years in Japan. I also worked with a Neise (Japanese Americans). I never had such a good time with my equals and as we said, we cried all the way home. It was also educational. Bought my first Olympus Pen Camera their (1/2 frame). Now the Olympus Cameras are made in a Center Valley, Pa. (outside Allentown, Pa. North of Phia.). So it was nice to see the two countries working together. When overseas, it was interesting to see what the U.S. look like in the newspaper and on TV in different countries, and it was not always a pretty picture; in fact, at times it was scary...its different being here and from the outside looking in. I guess learning is an endless process.

It depends on the individual. I have several Olympus Cameras and lens. I also have a Fujilfilm. If you review the Specs, the Fujifilm is smaller and lighter even though Olympus advertises smaller and lighter cameras, but they are comparing "Types", so go back to the old comparison of comparing oranges and apples. Olympus does lead the industry in "Stabilization", which is very good, but in addition to be smaller (X T-30) in side by side tests I find the Fujilfilm sharper and clearer, but the Olympus is good especially its T-6. The latest cameras from Olympus advertise that the newere stablization system help reduce the use of "Tri-pods", so it all depends on the user. Like almost anything else, it depends on the users preferences.

It depends on several variables including where the photo will be used. I had a similar pair of Olympus Lenses and I returned the Pro and kept the Regular because I could not see any differece and saved $1,200. I felt good because I read than another user did the same. Also, remember, as you grow older your vision may change and so the way photos look and I speak from experience, so it may not always be the equipment. So if your happy with the regular photo, not going to make any special elaborate print and just view, save yourself some money and stay with the regular lens. Several years ago I had the usual cataract operations and new eye lenses, going from glasses to reading the finest print on an Rx bottle without them. Of course, as I continued to get older, even the new eye lenses started to slowly change increasing the blur. So, again, its not always the camera equipment, but the peron viewing it....

Good advice. If you have the money, go one step further and instead of a HD use a mini computer and you can put everything on it. Its small, easy to move, just unplug and replug at a new site or whereever a compatiable computer or equipment is available. Of course, there is always limited storage to what you can afford at icloud.

I would say my son is a professional photograher becase he has a four year B.S. degree in Photography from a recognized and certified college. He was also hired by a hospital as a medical photographer six years prior to his graduation and recently retired from the same institution after 40 years. Of course, he did all types of photography in Emergency and operating rooms, medical research and education, preparing slides for doctors lectures, public relations, in fact anything in the field of photography. He would also be accepted into as a professional witness in his field. His wife had taugh photography in H.S. and competed in photography competition and his son was sa wedding photographer on the side, but they were not consider professionals. So, like anyother profession you would have to follow the guidlines as set down by that profession.

I just typed it in "Google Search" and they came up with including subscription. There are quite a few with similar names. Also, it may be the one published in England. Google showed a subcription rate of 8.71 a copy.

I can understand because I am in the same situation. There are many alternatives. Many decades ago, I switched to Apple and have been pleased. Of course, there are some apps. I would like that only run on Windows. Apple, does under certain circumstances allow Windows apps. to operate on Apple, but I have not found that too great and It may be a matter of adjusting and getting use to. Even though Apple is more expensive. it has its up and downs. I have had bad units, but even after 2.5 years of use, they did replace them with new ones since they could repair them. Their Care Package is good, not great, and sometimes takes a little hassling. I basically us the 27 Desk Top and have for a decade while my wife uses a laptop pro.
My desk top has been replaced and my wifes laptopl pro has been working fine for over seven years. Of course, we use them for different purposes. Basically, the Apple appears to be more expensive, but you also appear to get more items as being standards than add ons and the quality may or may not be better, but appears not to be less. Presently, in comparison, the new 16 Inch Apple laptop pro appears to be thee top of the line with no one appearing to match it thus far, for example you can choose up to 8TB Storage with 64GB of Ram, it light, etc. I am leaning towards it at present. There are also other solutions such as using a "Mini Mac" instead of an EXTHD and you have a small well built unit easy to transport and just needs a keyboard and monitor (can use other computers), so no matter where you go you have a computer in a big coat pocket with all the pics, editing, etc. Of course, there are still various forms of storage such as the EXTHD, FLASH UNITS, MEMORY CARDS, DISC, and the list goes on. So there are a lot of choices and combinations depending on what you can afford and of course, prefer.....its just the frustration in choosing, but it is usually something that can be changed or adjusted with todays return policies, so I would also consider choosing vendors with suitable return or exchange policies. The bigger ones are usually more liberal because they can afford todo so and their reputation is important. I have returned cameras/lens in the five figures to vendors via Amazon, Ebay, with no problem and of course your big camera firms. So its not only what you do, its HOW you do it to lower any risk. Fun, fun,...no..just patience and good luck. I am 90 and doing it quite a while...

"SanDisk" has a reovery program and professional lab for photo recovery, which I believe is localted in Clearwater, FL; however, they have a Web Site that may provide you with perninet information and choices.
Also, use the old standby of "Google Search" and you will get feed back that may be of assistance. I had the same trouble with the Best Buy Geek squad and they usually back up the HD and retain the copy for the month. Of course, I still don't trust them. You porobably can get your photos back and is just a matter of who and the cost, so not all is lost.

I had been using iPhoto for years and got use to it. Like most things, if it is working, fix it so it don't. I have tried almost every system there is available. Some vary and others are similar. The only item or system that I have found constant and easy to use is, as once suggested, a simple folder system because almost any or every app. on your computer or internet will be to easily refer to it. It is nothing more than creating a folder, for example Photos, and then followed by a number of sub-folders of your choosing, either by date, event, or whatever suits you...PHOTOS>JONES>Parents>Childrem>Grandchldren or Photos>Year>Events etc. Even if you moving your items around to different drives or backups, all you have to do is move the folder aka PHOTOs and all will follow. You can adapt a system to your likes and comfort, but it will be a system almost anyprogram or app. can use. LR and most of the other apps do not store, but just WANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU STORE YOUR PHOTOS. The more in one place or folder, the easier and better, especially for you or any app. to fund. Simplicity is the best. Just like going back to elementary school and learning to organize your work, like in English paragraphs 1. a. etc. or what system or sequence your prefer.

Good Question. I have an iMac 27. Asked for repairs under their Apple Care Program. Had some difficulty since they said the program only deals with "hardware" and the problem appeared to be software. Took it to another firm that Apple authorizes to service. They said they could not pin point it, so they sent it to Kentucky (from FL) for evaluation and repair. It came back but they were not satisfied, so they said they would do a software repair....translated, they just remove most its software, including major Adobe, which I thought was working, but its removal was just part of the package. Hasn't worked right since but did not have any trouble with the new OS Catalina. So for me its a matter of starting over and I probably should have gone to he Mom and Pop repair facility where the techs. appear more experience...thats my experience.

I have one. So it will be a while before I know about the ink lasting years. You fill the tanks first, and then after your done, you go back and top them off with the remaining ink.

The USB setup is easy, but the wireless (WIFI) is another one of those time consumers trying to get everything to work....

One items I am pleased with is that the automatic two sided printing. I make a lot of my own greeting cards and the two sided feature automatically prints both sides without you having to take the paper out and trying to figure which way it should go in since programs vary. That is one of their better features. Of course, their is only one paper slot as posed to the front and rear usually found in Canon, so that is another challenge. I had a Canon before which lasted almost five years. So far, the Epson appears okay, but nothing to Bragg about.
