A bottle brush bloom past it’s prime.
Gander is land-locked, are you planning to use it as a jumping off point for Twillingate? We were in NFLD a few years ago about the same time and drove from St. John’s to St. Anthony for icebergs and whales. I had been told that this was one the best areas to see them; we missed them by a couple of weeks but saw plenty of whales. It is a long drive but you do go past Gros Morne, which is an excellent example of a fiord; there is a tour boat that takes you into the fiord. Also, the St. Lawrence coast is beautiful and L’Anse aux Meadows, the Viking village is interesting and near St. Anthony. We were very fortunate as leaving the area to head back south we saw a lynx during the daytime.
I should have said Lightning; see picture for page symbol referenced below.

I have the same FireWire to SD reader and had the same problem until I made certain that when the reader was inserted into the FireWire port that the small page symbol was visible or up; this solved my problem.
You are absolutely correct, I looked at it incorrectly, thanks for straightening me out. I guess I expected to see the moon's shadow as it first entered the sun in the first picture and exiting the sun in the last picture.
The top three photos are excellent but the last is not an accurate portrayal of the actual eclipse. The moon's shadow approached from the right and exited to the left where I watched it.
