I couldn't resist the challenge. This is from several years ago at the dog park at Point Isabel (El Cerrito CA) when the poodle Moses still allowed himself to be chased by other dogs. The initial in the background is at the U.S.P.S. Bulk Mail Center behind the fence.

One of the real benefits of life in the Bay Area is the amount of undeveloped open space within and all around so that one can be in the country even in the midst of the city. These are from the Serpentine Prairie in Roberts Regional Park, off Skyline Blvd.

Apparenly it's true, though, that you gain an actual day when you travel east 'round the world.

A lot depends on where you are in your time zone. Like Maine is far to the east, i.e. right at the beginning, of the Eastern TimeZone so it's always "later,"while Indiana, on the western edge, is actually almost an hour behind. If they go on Daylight Time (to match Cincinnati) they're an hour ahead of Chicago, which can be awkward.

I've tried and sent back ON1 3 times now, have not tried the latest version. I particularly appreciated the "un intrusive" catalog system—the app simply finds all the files in your computer (and hard drives and cloud), you don't have to "add" any of them. And lets you do all kinds of tagging and organizing. Basic editing functions are great and easy to use. Local adjustments, masking, etc. are relatively easy. Some useful & interesting filters. But unless they've fixed them, the "perfect eraser" and clone stamp are frustrating and ineffective (that has been the deal breaker for me) and the colors it produced, no matter how I tried to adjust them, were often just off. I'll probably try it again. Making do with Luminar (who promise to improve their new & clunky catalog).

My first SLR was a Rebel XTi that I bought from a friend, and I loved it. I recently tried to employ it as a lightweight alternative to my "solid" Pentax but found my upgraded operating system (High Sierra, OS 10.13.6) doesn't recognize it any longer, and I can't figure out a way to upload images short of downgrading to a previous OS. A serious drawback.
Its BEST feature was that it doesn't record videos!

We visited an exhibit "Cult of the Machine" at the De Young in San Francisco which featured (primarily) paintings by Charles Sheeler and Georgia O'Keeffe (2 f's!) and the "precisionist" school, characterized by abstraction and sharp edges and a mechanical view and generally the absence of people. Then I found this which I had taken a couple of days before and was astonished at how well it fit and "am I channelling something I wasn't aware of?"

You had me going, and I went to Wikipedia to find out about Rudolf Hess (how could you, born in 1953, have had any connection with a figure from WW2?) and I found out he was 93, imprisoned for life at Spandau, when he died by suicide in 1987. Wow!
I doubt if they would have let you take his picture and doubt if he would have been worth looking at, though I guess he wasn't a bad-looking man for a war criminal.
I hope you're carrying a camera now!

Beautiful shot. I must point out, however, that "photographically," even though you spell it with a "p," is not alliterative in this context. I'm trying to train myself to write "foto" (like the Germans and others). And I giggle over "I.P.A."— the International Phonetic Alphabet!

Not a bad result, I thought.
Saved from a (rather) overexposed mess in Affinity. Pentax P settings gave me 1/20 at f4.5, ISO 100.

Thanks. The issue here was not camera settings (interestingly, ON 1 opened an image several shades lighter than the original and the version in Affinity and also iPhoto—I checked), but rather adjustments offered in ON 1. Both images have been adjusted and could be a little lighter. But I felt that ON 1 simply didn't offer the color I wanted, that Affinity let me be more accurate. Though, theoretically, I suppose one ought to be able to match any color. Then the question was whether it's still a better image and, if so, who really made it?

Thanks. I started viewing his videos (they're very detailed!) before I ended my last trial. I keep hoping ON 1 will be the one.
