My family and I will be spending two days, March 7th/8th, in Zion National Park. We will be limited to day hikes:
10+ miles maximum. Any suggestions on which location(s) will provide the best photographic opportunities. I prefer the "trails" less travelled. Upon arrival we will seek suggestion(s) from Park personnel. Since we are limited on time I would like to have an idea about our plans before we arrive. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

After searching months for a Leica CL I found one at Used Photo Pro. It was the right camera at the right price. It was listed as Mint- and came with a Leica 1-year warranty. I found one very, very minor defect on the bottom plate. The camera was probably a demo or refurbished. I want to use it and keep it as close to the same condition as possible. Hopefully, it will be the last camera I buy. I have ordered glass protection for the rear LCD. The cameras I did not select had paint wearing and scratches round the strap eyelets and top and bottom plates. I am seeking advice on how to keep the camera in the best condition possible including any Leica or other brand(s) accessories available. Thank you.

The following are in like-new to excellent condition. Except one of the Godox speedlights everything comes with original boxes. Lenses have front/rear caps, hoods and UV filters. The 40-150mm has the tripod collar. Speedlights include charger, battery and stand. I am selling because I do not need it. I used it to photograph my kids school activities, sports and senior photos. They have graduated. I still have and use my Olympus E-M1 Mark II and 12-40mm. If interested in everything, make an offer.

Good afternoon to all !

My daughter is now playing U15 volleyball. I've offered myself for video and photography. Any suggestions regarding setup and lens that I should use or avoid.

Here's what I was thinking of using:
D500 (photo) and D5600 (video on a tripod)
70-200mm 2.8
50 mm 1.8
18-70 3.5 - 4.5

Shooting Raw and manual mode

Regards

Éric

Papou,

My daughter played club/high school volleyball for three years. I have THOUSANDS of photos of her teammates and her. I shot in manual mode with a Nikon D750, Nikon 70-200 2.8 and Nikon 50mm 1.8. The lighting in the gyms and conventions will vary. The courts in the same gyms and convention centers will also vary. I found an ISO of 3200 or lower was acceptable. If you haven't make sure the parents know who you are and what you are doing. I had a secured SmugMug account and posted my photos to the account for the parents to download for free. I made sure if they did not approve of a photo I would delete it from my account. The best/most memorable photos were not the "action" shots. You can only take so many photos of a serve, pass, set, hit and block. The best shots were the girls emotional responses to what occurred before or after each point. You will learn the girls personalities as the season progresses. I waited a full season to get the shot of the stoic/serious player who showed little to no emotion. The shot of her smile, scream, high-step stomp or fist pump was worth the wait. Her parents were very thankful. If available, utilize the second floor/upper level for a different perspective. It may seem a little strange advice, but keep notes. After each tournament/venue write a brief one or two sentence summary of the lighting and if any second level areas were available. My daughter played in the same venues and the notes helped with what to expect. I rented additional lenses a couple times based on the notes. Finally, remember take time to enjoy a game or two each day. Good luck.

I will spend a day at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in March. I have read several older posts on the subject and received good advice on filters: circular polarizing and neutral density. A post recommended a wide angle lens, but did not mention a specific lens. I have a Nikon D750 and I will take my Nikon 50mm 1.8G, Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 and Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR. My question is would the 24 -70mm be wide enough? If not, any suggestions. Any other advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

MAS24, the used Nikon 70-200 VRII I am is considering is the first generation VRII, not the VR or the current model. I have researched and I have found for the minimal condition I am willing to use I would be paying $1600-1700 at several reputable on-line sites: KEH, Roberts, BHPhoto, etc. I am willing to pay extra for the better lens if there is a difference or noticeable difference. Image quality and fast auto focus are most important to me. Thank you.

I am avid photographer. I have a Nikon D750. I am currently shooting indoor sports(volleyball and basketball)/activities for my children and children of relatives and friends. I am considering a used Nikon 70-200 2.8 VRII or a new Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 G2. I would like your opinion on anyone who has used both lenses or the new Tamron. I have rented the Nikon numerous times and familiar with its performance.
