Really nice work! Wish my body would allow me to get perspective like that! š
Is it just me, or are we getting more and more snarky responses to legitimate questions on this forum? Why not just ignore the question if you donāt have any constructive input?
Thanks for your reply, Jerry. Looks like thatās pretty far from me. If Iām near there sometime though Iāll check it out.
Nice photos! Was this near southern Illinois? If so, what conservation area please?
Wow! Just saw your second post. Those are terrific photos! Can you tell me what time of day you took them? Can you give me an idea how to find the two nesting areas? Thanks so much!
Great photos! I live near there. When weāre these taken? Thanks.
Thanks. I have had good luck with the wide focus area also for BIF. I look forward to your next comments.
Really nice, sharp photos Larry. What mode do you normally shoot in for wildlife? With my RX10 iv, I usually use P mode with ISO Auto Minimum Shutter Speed set to 1/250, but my photos are certainly not as consistently sharp as yours appear to be. Do you have any suggestions for basic settings for shooting birds? (I may have some camera shake issues too, but I would welcome any suggestions.)
I could be wrong, but your first photo looks more like Couchās Kingbird or Tropical Kingbird to me. I have not seen a Lesser Kiskadee, but what Iām reading says it looks pretty much like the Greater Kiskadee but smaller and with a longer beak. Nice photos.
My āSeekā app identifies both photos as pygmy owls/owlets. It says the owl in the first photo is a Pearl-Spotted Owlet, and the owls in the second photo are Ferruginous Pygmy-Owls. Donāt know if itās always accurate, but this is a pretty cool fun, free app that identifies all sorts of things (birds, plants, insects, animals) by photo or live view.
Beautiful, sharp, colorful photos. May I ask what equipment you were using?
