Between the time I started writing this and posting it, much of this information was posted by by others. I’ll leave it as-is just in case…..

In addition to the comments that have been provided, I think it is worthwhile to understand that there are broader functions than just backup for which OneDrive is intended. This got a little longer than planned but may be helpful to some. As always, test these functions before relying on them.

For many of us the primary usage of OneDrive is for backup of both photos and other personal files. However, it also functions as a tool to make those photos and files available and editable on other computing devices: smart phones, tablets and other computers. For example, my iPhone and iPad have OneDrive apps that log into my account and make all of those files available on those devices. I can view, edit or delete on all. I do not have to copy them to the device. These files can also be shared via a link that is sent to those with whom you are sharing.

OneDrive IS a folder on the computer that can be designated for use by other apps. Photos and files are stored in that folder and when the computer is logged into the OneDrive account, those files are synchronized so that the files on the local machine are the same as the online “cloud” storage. It is not a one-way transfer like Google or Amazon. So if you delete files from one computer or device they will synchronize with the others and be deleted from them as well, assuming that they are also logged into OneDrive. HOWEVER (caps for emphasis), One Drive DOES have its own Recycle Bin where deleted files are stored for 30 days and can be reclaimed.

There is one exception to the synchronizing function. The OneDrive apps on smart phones can be configured to back up photos on those devices. It makes them available as a copy on all OneDrive devices. This function IS a one-way backup of smart device photos, allowing you to delete them from your phone if you are running out of storage there. The app does need to be open for the backup to occur and should be done when you are on Wi-Fi unless you have unlimited cell data.

One more benefit: you can access all your synchronized OneDrive files from any computer by logging into your account in a web browser. You can view, upload and delete in the browser.

(And, no, I’m not a Microsoft employee.)

Tamron USA is in New York and is also neither receiving or shipping. A week and a half ago I sent in my Canon 77D and new Tamron 18-400 to have them calibrated. While there was a couple of days delay beyond their 3-day policy I am very thankful to have received them back yesterday afternoon. Great service!

Brings back memories. We lived in Bamberg for 5 months in 1984 as interim directors of a hospitality house for American military personnel.

I appreciate all of your responses. Thank you.

Is there more than one version of the 18-135 IS USM lens? Both of the Canon 77D and 80D kits use the same identification.

Assuming you are referring to Oregon, Multnomah Falls is a 620 foot waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge about a half hour freeway drive from the Portland airport. If you get off the freeway at Troutdale and take the Columbia River Highway there are multiple spectacular falls along the way as well as Crown Point with sweeping vistas of the Columbia River Gorge from high up.

Thank you for your responses.

The two cameras come with 18-135 USM lenses and I am wondering if they are the same.

I am a new poster here and am getting ready to purchase a DSLR. (I am stepping back into a SLR after a long hiatus from my ME Super which I loved back in the day.) I am trying to decide between the Canon 77D and 80D. I like physical size and weight of the 77D but most of the feature comparisons give the advantage to the 80D. Two of the differences that I am unclear on are the benefits of Bluetooth over wifi and the Digic 6 or 7. Any clarity on the value of these would be appreciated. Thanks.
