I’ve been using a Limix zs70 for the last few years. Some images need a little post work but overall I’m pleased and it’s much less to lug around as “one ages”.
You’re not the only on having OGC’s—old guy complaints. That’s the reason I’ve converted to using an iPhone and a lightweight compact.
You can still download Picasa. Easy to use.
No to be snarky, but most of the senate would view him as a contemporary.
I have a suggestion. There is some satisfaction in having ones images displayed and appreciated especially in the setting you described. If copyright is not an issue, present them with a properly edited jpeg and a small image that the hospital can have enlarged and mounted and installed on their dime. Whether you name the image and ask that it appears along with credit to you is up to you.
Politics aside, I agree with you. Ever see long shots of these conferences and committee meetings with photogs laying on the floor cradling long lenses to capture any wrinkle of the speaker? Think of how distracting it must be to a speaker who is not accustomed to this.
Agreed. Any of the LUMIX ZS range would be good.
I have a couple inherited as well. There probably are enthusiasts who figure out how to use film in them. As it is, they are just display objects for me.
I wonder if you check the box about not importing duplicates if that will make a difference??
My experience is different. I have a Photosmart printer but do not print that often. The occasional photos are ok. I use Costco for ink refills and have never had a problem.
You can still find Picasa. Low learning curve, easy to organize and basic edit photos.
First-welcome to Oregon. We did a similar move from Michigan to Eugene, OR five years ago. Didn't think about the camera, etc. angle. We also shipped two cars and loaded the trunks with stuff (kept a photo and written inventory). Probably wasn't the brightest idea but the transport company was bonded and insured.
If it's really valuable or a lot of equipment, seek out a specialty insurance company. If it's older equipment, you could sell it locally and buy new once you're here. There is no sales tax in Oregon.
I agree. Photo cards are more personal. Never mastered printing whole cards. What I've been doing for years is attaching 4x6 prints to card stock; in this case, Recollections cards and envelopes from Michaels. This gives me a chance to send a personalized greeting and the recipient can then keep the photo. I've also given sets of personalized cards as gifts.
The other problem is that homo sapiens hasn't been around for all of these events save the current one. We (and most of us are not investigators or climate scientists) can debate until the polar caps melt or Mara Lago is under water and still not be in agreement. Governmental action in the next few years will determine if we can preserve the viability of our coasts, cities and agriculture. As far as photography, I guess we can take images of the natural and man made disasters. As far as Greta, the dinosaurs in DC forget that these kids v**e and they are more politically aware than any previous generation.
Anything in the Panasonic Lumix zs range will do you.
