very neat and relaxing looking

Thanks. It's just one of many spots in downtown Jonesboro. It's full of great settings for some wonderful pictures.

Thank You Jimmya. Of course PS5 really helps out too. I LOVE working in PS along with OnOne - Photo tools, and Perfect Effects 3 plugins.

I'll share with you. Here's one I did the other, no editing at all... what do you think? I call this Lady at the Window because I shot it with my 50mm f/1.8 in window light.

Excellebt shot! She's a pretty lady. And you did a good job of keeping the focus on her face. well done :)

a cute little girl and some natural light = magic!

Magic is right... I love window light shots. Nice going, keep it up.

So, if you don't mind, what lens, camera, settings?

I used a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8, Nikon D7000 and settings.
Pic 1. f/2.8; 1/60; ISO 320 @ 17mm
Pic 2. f/2.8; 1/160; ISO 200 @ 17mm
Both pic's in manuel mode

Correct. I didn't want the outside seen. In fact I took some more after that with the blinds turned down to lessen the contrast a bit.

Yes, the exposure for the whites is very good. What lens? A horizontal crop on pic #1 and it's good to go. Great timing.

Lens: Nikon DX 18-105mm 1:3.5-5.6

Wow! For a "kit" lens those turned out crystal clear. That's why I'm a Nikonian myself. Great job!!

I read somewhere that when taking portraits with a person's face on angle, you need to make sure to either hide the "other" eye completely or show it completely.
It's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

So - - I performed an enucleation of the right eye - - whaddya think.

I have to admit, that doesn't look right. I't looks like her right eye has been erased exactly as it has. Sorry.

We have had a cold spring, so the flowers are a little late coming out. I had hoped to get some camellias, but it is still too early. I did find a nice Azalea to photo and have posted some copies.

Please feel free to post your own.

I like your color ones, especially the first!

I took these today! Hope you like!

Straight from the camera, manual mode, no post-editing, not even cropping.
:-)

Is it just my imagination or is someone bragging on their own photos?....i.e. "look what I did"! Not a very friendly thing to do. Especially on someone elses post.
