To all who replied, thank you! I thought with apsc mode I would get longer reach on my egret, on account I did not have my 200-600mm zoom with me. I don’t shoot sports/action but once in a while I like to chase a bird in flight.
Yes, I think the is what I will do from now on. I upgraded from the A7iii after playing around with the IVr and just got this camera as my forever camera. I added a practice shot of a great white egret, at Big Lagoon State park in Pensacola FL.
Indeed. I only had the 200mm and I thought I could just kick it into APSC to at least have a chance at the egret and the osprey LOL. In defense of the camera, it does warn you when you pick the combination. I didn’t see it and it happily let me shoot in an unsupported format. All good, thanks again for responding, it really helped.
OK so thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The camera told me that RAW Lossless Comp (L) is not available when shooting in APSC size range....Indeed, all other modes work (RAW S and RAW M), compressed RAW and uncompressed RAW...
Thank you! The camera worked fine on full frame, as all the 200mm shots came out at the same settings. It was the 300mm shots, where i was using a 200mm lens in APSC. I will try that. It's a brand new camera.
I was using Tamrom28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD. Shooting on APCS mode on Hi+ on tracking zone with bird recognition turned on. What did I do wrong?
I’m sorry, it was a valid question. I don’t understand the personal attack. I legit did not know what could cause that on the pic I uploaded. Sheesh.
No, what is that, please?
All the birds are seagulls
Ooh, hadn’t thought of that! Thank you !
The bird looks like it has an extra set of wings? Taken with a Samsung cell phone by a friend. Just wondering what could cause that? I thought it was another bird at first. TIA.
Hi there, I’m in Pace, FL, in my backyard. I set up my tripod and watch out the window and then run to try and catch them lol. They stay a few weeks and then move on.
