Thanks for your comment. I am one of those Amazon Market Place sellers myself, so I am in there for the long haul. Thanks again
I did as you said and contacted Nikon with the serial number. The camera does have a 90 day warranty.
It was one of the marketplace sellers on Amazon.
The replacement refurbished camera which I purchased from a different business, came with a warranty card. It was an AW110 instead of the AW100. Really good camera. Also no problem with the return of the AW100. Thanks all for your help.
There was no warranty included with the shipment. I purchased another similar, but newer model from a different source. It is again, Nikon refurbished. We will see if this seller is true to their word. Thanks all, Dan
Catfish252, Thanks to you and to all who participated here , helping me solve this issue. I have returned the camera to the seller since it had no evident warranty and a lens blurring on the left side as well. You guys are great and many thanks.
I will identify the seller when I find if there is dishonesty involved. All your replies have helped me with this issue. Let me wait until further info is available from Nikon and the seller before ID are made as I hate to cast doubt on anyone before it is due. Thanks all....Dan
I just bought a refurbished Nikon camera advertised as Manufacturer refurbished. The add included a photo of the special Nikon refurbished box. There is no warranty card or other mention of one even in the manual. I think the typical Nikon refurbished warranty is 90 days. The camera and all accessories appear to be brand new. Shinny with no scratches even on the LCD. The neck strap and other items look unused too. The little brown plain box had one small sticker which I will try to photograph and post here. How does a seller get refurbished Nikon cameras without the refurbished box from Nikon. Not too worried about Grey Market, but I am concerned about Black Market. I don't want anything to do with questionable product acquisition. So far, I have not received substantive information. They have offered me a 20% discount if I want to keep the camera. However, I still would have no warranty or maybe not even a return period. I do believe this is a new camera, but where did it come from? Any help would be appreciated while I wait for the second response from the seller. Thanks, Dan
Who applied this label, seller or Nikon
Small brown box camera was packed in
I purchased a nearly new Nikon P7700 camera a few months ago. Hardly noticeable, but there, about 6 sparkling pixels showing on the LCD screen in dark areas. Two of these are a little larger and blink off and on...one green and one red. The tiny sparkling ones seem to disappear quickly. I have never had this on any other camera. Is this an acceptable condition? I forget about them as they are not very prominent, but I am now wanting to sell this camera to purchase a Sony RX10. (Maybe I want an RX10???) I must disclose this fault, if indeed it is a fault, to prospective buyers. Hard to do this honestly without scaring them off. The sparkles do not affect the images or the view in the LCD. Many would probably not even see them and I forget them even using reading magnifiers. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Dan
I have heard that the Canon S110 camera does not work in cold weather. I have had mine for a few weeks now....all hot weather and really like it. Seems that there would be many reports of a failure of this nature if it were true. I do know of a friends camera of a different brand that had problems on a cold day. Any ideas?
PS...Almost everytime I change screens on this site, I have unwanted POP UPS saying I have been selected to take a survey. One was supposedly from Media Com and the other from Ugly HedgeHog. What is going on?
There are so many things that can get on your lense...not only finger prints, but smoke from anywhere, even in your home from cooking. Many don't think about it, but oily residue given off by the vinyl in your car. If you don't think that can affect your lens, take a look at the hard to remove fog on the inside of your windshield. I doubt if lens cleaner will remove that. What is the purpose of an expensive lens if such small things won't make a difference in image quality anyway? If nothing else, repeated lens cleanings could damage lens coatings. I have by accident touched my UV filter at a big outdoor performance event leaving a smudge. Nice to have that protective cover, especially if you did not bring the special lens cleaning materials. A "T" shirt at this time can be a blessing and can be used without much worry. As you can tell, I strongly recommend a UV filter or other glass cover of your choice. It only takes one time to ruin your lens....better the UV filter take the damage. As for attachments that stick out from the lens like a shade, they can be useful, but also be in the way of holstering your camera due to the extra length and they may also cause you to bang into things more often with the extra lens length. Just another view....hope it doesn't raise any eyebrows.
By the way, some cameras that use bayonet adapters for lens filters to attach to, will allow those smokey coatings to get under your filter. They have openings that prevent airtight sealing. Something else to consider.
No more comments from me will be forthcoming on the religion topic.
James, your wisdom has been noted. A smart man knows when to change his mind as new evidence is accumulated. Long ago decisions could be outdated. Condemn me if you like. I rather have your condemnation than Gods. Our faith calls for spreading the Gospel. That is why we tell others about Jesus. If I think you are about to fall in a hole, I should tell you, don't you think. What do you tell people about through your earthly wisdom? Best fishing hole, super golf clubs or perhaps it is the best camera. None of which are bad, neither are they eternally important. Knowledge and wisdom are quite different. I choose the wisdom from above that has stood the test of time. The choice is yours and I believe you have made it. Best wishes forever.
Pepper, that is because astro photography is not a rock of offense nor a stumbling stone. You do not have to make a decision about astro photography, but Christ demands one. Thus all the complaints. It gets ugly because it is serious stuff. Everyone that comes into contact with Jesus makes a decision. Some for and some against. You did it, I did it and all who have complained here have done it. I have not made a count, but it would be interesting to compare the number of those that stumbled over Jesus and those that welcomed Him in this thread.
