Took hundreds of photos here two years ago and going back again to explore more of this beautiful state.
Thank you for the comment.
I loved black and white early on. I decided to try it out on some of my color pics taken on my latest trip to Moab at the Arches National Park. What do you think?
Hi Lagoonguy...I took that through the chain link fence along the property line at the entrance road to the mill. I took pics of the trucks on hill to the left of the mill, too, but haven't done anything with them. I'm heading back to Koloa this coming July. It will be our 6th time there---our favorite of the Hawaiian islands. When in Maui we stay in Lahaina...have lots of pics from there, too. Looking forward to more picture taking, especially in Allerton and McBryde Gardens, just down the street (Lawai Rd) from where we will be staying. Also, the cat boat to Napali Coast. Thanks, Pix-Syl
Old sugar mill outside of Koloa on Kauai...not safe to venture inside, however, tour during Old Koloa Days in July is interesting.
Nice shot and great color saturation.
Thank you. Lucky, I guess...saw it coming when on a cruise ship (Princess "Crown Princess") sailing back to Vancouver from Whittier.

Just one of the many beautiful sights when sailing through Glacier Bay, Alaska.

Thank you, Heart...I do have a long, white pony tail, though :) Have a great day!
Hello, All, from the Quiet Corner (northeast) of Connecticut. I am a practicing professional engineer (Civil) in a few New England states and love my photography hobby. I have been reading the posts here for quite some time now and finally decided to become a member of this thoughtful, interesting community. I began my photography hobby with a small Sears & Roebuck Tower 35mm camera (no rangefinder- just guess the distance, rotate the lens, and pray) a long time ago when I was 11 or 12 years old. As time marched on I honed my skills with bigger and better film cameras - Minolta AP-1, Minolta SRT-101, Graflex XL, and Mamiya RB-67 (I used the medium format cameras for wedding and portrait photography). Now, I use Canon DSLRs and L-glass, exclusively. At one time I had a black & white darkroom, too, but now use Photoshop with ON1 and NIK plugins on my computer. Once in a while I sell some photos when exhibiting in area shows, e.g., Mystic Museum of Art (member). Today, my photographic interests include travel (love cruise ships, wherever they sail to) and landscape (particularly fond of the southwest USA, Alaska, and Hawaii) photography. I am also a General class licensed ham radio operator (99% CW). Through participation on UHH, I am looking forward to making new friends, learning some new ideas, and sharing photos with you. Thank you, Syl.
