I was just there last August, stayed at Goulding"s Lodge & campground. Used the Rv park but they also have a lodge. Scheduled an all day tour through them. My guide was a retired Navaho that taught special ed for 30 + years and had been a gudie for 5 years. Extremely knowledgeble. There was supposed to be a couple with us. but thay did not show so I got a private tour. Went off road in areas that you must have a guide to see also included the loop tour. Having the guide was well worth it.
Try Luminar 3, easy to use and inexpensive with good results
Charger. Every photographers best friend in the “wild”
Last year I took basically the same trip you are interested in. I used Smartours.com out of NY. The price was right and the tour was first rate.
First time to post, hope I did it right
Granted I was there at the end of the rainy season this spring
but my 8:00 am flight was canceled due to weather and the copters could not fly until later in the day. Friends who took the later flight did the longer trip and found it to be worth it.
I just returned from a SA trip. All of the posts are on target. I did not experience dust problems , since it was at the end of the rainy season. I had my Canon 80D with a Sigma 150-600C, Canon kit 18-55 IS, EFS 55-250 IS, and NIKON COOLPIX PS. (I used it at Victoria Falls since it was VERY wet). I used the 150-600 about 70% of my shots most other shots were with the 55-250. I used a WD My Passport Wireless Pro for SD back up each night. You might want to purchase this book to help with your planning. Have a great trip.

Thanks to everyone for all the good advice. This sight is an exceptional resource for a long ago film user to get back in the game. I decided to order the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Lense. ($749)in order to have some time to practice before my trip. If any shots are are good or bad , I will share soome with you for comments. Thanks again for your help. Ron
I recently got a deal(?) on a Canon EOS 80D with 2 lenses; EFS 18-55 IS Macro 0.25m/0.8ft and EFS 55-250 IS macro 0.85m/2.5ft. My SA trip is 17 days during which I visit 4 game parks. I plan on some landscape but mostly the big 5 wild life; Elephants, Lions etc. Do I need different lenses ?
