I have been trying to get some pictures of several roadrunners where I go hiking, but haven't been able to get a picture. You're right, they're hard to get close without them running off. Great capture
Yes it is. It was very humid the previous night which I thought would make a great picture addition of the moisture on anything and everything I took a picture of. That Quail just happened to be in the right spot and seemed to night mind me taking numerous pictures.
They're all great captures with excellent details of the owl but that first one really stands out. Might be because of the great timing in capturing its eyes wide open focusing on possibly you. Awesome.
Thanks. On the first picture I took he didn't know but this is the third picture and he heard the shutter go off. I was waiting for doe to come out about 30 yards down when this spike walked towards me from behind that tree. He was about 5 yards from me.
I have always been interested in photography and now that I am retired I have all the time in the world to to take pics. Since I am a very active hunter and hiker I always take either my Nikon d7100 or Nikon coolpix S9900 with me taking pictures of wildlife. I always have a camera with me when traveling around San Antonio capturing anything I think looks nice. I look forward to learning about my cameras and different techniques.
