The Bald Eagle was about 125-150 feet away.
I used 800mm (400mm times 2.0x III =800mm)
Hand held.
Canon 5Dsr - Canon 400 II f4 prime - Canon 2.0x III - 1/640 - f/13 - ISO @ 1000.

Another great shot Regis. I am a big fan of your bird shots to me some of the best I have seen.
Your eagle shots are outstanding, Regis. Great detail and texture, especially in the download.

It is quite apparent that your new lens is working! Guess nobody told you that a 2X can negatively affect images...wonderful detail!
Photographer, gear and patience, all put together to make a great photograph. Well done.

Phenomenal shot and I think he/she is looking lovingly at you! :)
Regis it's wonderful. Are you really hand holding this lens too? Have you tried BIF with this camera and the longer lens? From my reading it has been mentioned that with all those pixels even the slightest movement is apparent. You've nailed the stills but have you had luck with moving subjects?

Regis, you sure do like to prove your ability with a TC. Fantastic photo.
Greg
Excellent close-up. Are you sure you didn't pay him to pose?

I thank you very much, gawler. I broke my piggy bank to buy this lens and I am very impressed with the sharpness and
quality of my photos.

I thank you very much, jayway55. I am happy with my new Canon 400 II f/4 lens which I bought this last Wednesday.
If the weather gets better, I'll be taking more Bald Eagle shots. So my photos now should have more detail.

If you hook up the Canon 2.0X convertor to the right lens and camera, you will get amazing 800mm detailed shots.
And yes, I am still taking hand held photos.
Some UHH members think it is a waste of money to spend on 1.4x or 2.0x convertors, but they are wrong.
I thank you very much, DaveO, for your good comment.
