If I wanted to compare 2 (or more lenses) I would set up a target (or statue or immobile object). Mount the camera and lens to a tripod (with heavier lenses make sure to mount the lens with the camera attached to the tripod....don't mount the camera with the lens attached to the tripod. Mount the lens to the tripod. Check the directions on the lens to see whether the VR feature should engaged when using a tripod. Shoot several pictures at different settings and duplicate the entire process with the other lens and the same settings. When you compare the images you will be eliminating subject movement........ photographer movement.....change of position (either camera or subject) as well as other differences that may be photographer (or subject) introduced. I think this will give you a better opportunity to compare the performance of both lenses in relation to one another with less external variables (photographer or subject movement...etc) getting in the way.

I have and older Wimberly that I am no longer using. I think the model is 100. Show some wear but works perfectly. I'd like to net $275 shipped for the package. I think that I still have a flash attachment which I will include. Let me know if you are interested?

If I were to buy a d850 what nikkor, sigma or tamron lense would you suggest and why? I think I want fast lenses and at least one zoom. Does the nikkor 28 to 300 mm make the cut? Keep the total cost under $10,000. Please consider sharpness and edge falloff.
I have decided that I am not interested in wildlife photos so long telephotos are not required. Also suggest a backpack camera bag to carry all this.

Nikon 16-35F 4, Nikon 50mm 1.4, Nikon 85mm 1.4, Nikon 70-200.........
Gives exc quality and coverage

If you want to save some weight you might consider the Nikon 20mm 1.8 and the 35mm Sigma 1.4A in place of the 16-35 and 50mm.

This is the sharpest tele I have ever owned. Exc condition. I am the second owner. It was purchased from a gentleman on Fred Miranda in 2012. Sale includes: Nikon 500mm F4 AFS II, Orginal trunk case, rear cap and front leather lens cover, Don Zeck lens cap, original Nikon shade, low profile foot (either Wimberly or RRS (I would have to check) and the original Nikon Foot. I am conservatively rating it a 9. There is an original Wimberly head that I will consider selling separately (to the buyer) and can be discussed when the lens is purchased. None of the above items will be sold separately. Payment by Bank Check, Wire transfer (I will cover the cost), or US Postal Money Order. Includes insured shipping CONUS...UPS or FEDEX (signature will be required) Pictures available shortly. Send an email address to: <keyes@optonline.net>
Reason for selling is age....mine. I can no longer carry this lens around in the field (happens to the best of us)
Check my feedback on fredmiranda.com (gkeyes)

The new camera comes with a warranty.............Nikon only offers a warranty to the original purchaser so for the possible savings of a few dollars the buyer would be giving up the warranty...........unfortunately the timing is bad for your sale.

not 100% sure but I believe that the serial numbers of all the US models of the D800, D800e and D810s start with a 3.
