KEH used cameras are guaranteed and much more affordable. I have purchased 2
cameras in the past from KEH
Why not take a similar approach as initially recommended? Print a segment from the digital image at 300 and 600 dpi. Place both outputs under a jewelers loupe or a microscope (many of us used a “scope”
to accurately focus a negative in an enlarger!
A second segmentation could be made by increasing the size of the print. Examine with the loupe. So on ad infinitum until
you accept what you see.
A second approach would make an enlargement the maximum your printer and ink supply can print. View and decide. Be sure to look at edges.
A third approach is to create an informal or formal focus group,of people with 20/20 or better eyesight, and ask for their advice! (Hint: A focus group is fine for matters of fiscal matters and marketing of products/services, like an expensive line of camera’s NOT a photo)
My XS Max is now my go to camera after years with Nikon and Olympus plus Broncos and Mamiya.
The XS Max at 12 MP replaced a 5S at 10MP. I have an 18x44 canvas print in our LR. The XS Max with dual lenses is supported by more than 75 apps including RAW capabilities. I have printed many images which have scored well in competitions.
So why did I leave the DSLRs? At 73 I could no longer use the DSLRs due to arthritis and other medical issues. No regrets at all.
For a cruise I would only have a smart phone. For birding and safaris,I would take a tripod and a full frame/lenses.
Amazing image. Glad no one was stung.

I understand your objection to shipping. However, if I were to pay pal 200.00 to you, would you consider dropping the printer at a UPS Store and let them package and send it to me?
Thank you.

IPhone Xmas. Taken in a Walmart parking
lot in Portrait Mode. Slight PP with Snapseed.
Hey grey panther, I am one too. From medium format to 35 mm film. I then was an early adopter (1996) of digital. Of course my digital equipment progressed to full format Nikon.
Unfortunately, I can no longer properly hold a Nikon, and probably a Canon, due to severe arthritis. Yes, I could use a tripod for some photo opportunities. However, I have evolved to be a darn good I photographer.
I use the latest Apple iPhone. I don’t have the phone connection! There are several apps that I use I shootouts mostly RAW. Files are large. There are limits such as an inability to shoot flying birds, but I never did with my Nikon.
I have been able to make prints as large as 44 inch panoramas on canvas and they sell well.
Young people prefer their phones because they mostly shoot to electronically to their friends. Rarely, do they and several photographers print their images. There are many youngsters who are using the smart phone like this 73 year old geezer!
To the original poster, I would suggest you consider which smart phone has the best photo apps. My review was indicated that Apple (iPhone) clearly decisively had more apps,
My first dig cam was an amazing Kodak DC 280. 3.3 MP and a CCD sensor. Still have it and another one I bought at a thrift store for 10 bucks (roughly 1000 dollars cheaper !). Original purchase date was Feb 1995,
