It's been quite a while since I posted on here...but wanted to share with you all pictures of a Ruffed Grouse. I am a rural mail carrier, and see this particular bird often. He lives on a rural lane that I go down every day. I see him at least twice a week. I have learned where to look for him. His favorite log he likes to sit on, the low brush he likes to sit under...he is territorial and will actually run out to chase your vehicle as you pass by. On the day I got these shots, there was a hen nearby, and he was showing off for her. I was super lucky to see his display. Enjoy!
I am a rural mail carrier and always have a camera in my jeep. Yesterday was one of those times it really paid off! Saw this Eagle sitting on the ground and he flew up into the tree. Stayed perched there for quite a while and I snapped off about 60 pics. Some were blurry, some had branches in the way, but I had a few decent ones. Taken with my Olympus SP800uz. I am always super excited to see Eagles, as where I live in PA., you don't see them often unless you live near a migration route or large bodies of water that can sustain them..
These shots were taken with an Olympus SP800uz. while floating in my kayak. Location is Brady's Lake, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Not exactly superb quality, but I was pleased with them none the less. My first Bald Eagle picture!

Thank you all. Have some research to do! Tamron 90mm was suggested to me, so wanted to see what most of you suggested. Thanks again for the input.

You captured some great moments! LOVE that Appy foal.
Oh my! Stunning bird. Beautiful pics!
I just bought a Tamron 18-270mm lens. I want a circular polarizer for it. Which brand is a good one?
Nice shots! You are so lucky. I am waiting impatiently to see/shoot my first one....
