Aside from focus, I love the way the two photos create a story that is probably illusion ... the beautiful shot of the little red riding hood girl traipsing along ... and the bear peering from behind a screen. How did you get the bear to pose for you!

This summer I purchased a Nikon D750 with the intention of using it for both stills and videography. After struggling with the D750 for months, I have come to the conclusion that DSLRs, though they may be capable of high quality video, are just not suited for anything but very mild and very occasional videography.

The GH4 and the much more expensive Sony A7s2 are close contenders.

Right now I am researching daily in an attempt to understand the current camcorder offerings, so that I can make a semi-educated guess as to which camcorder I will invest in during the next two months.

Interesting. But I notice on their compatibility chart they claim that the LCD must remain closed when used on the 750.

As much as I like my 'flippy' LCD, because of the focusing problems with it, I rarely use it. But I do use it. I simply with a quick twist rotate rotate the eye-cup perpendicular and open the screen. It is true that the eye-piece will cover a bit of the LCD and if the flippy is totally horizontal, it covers more.

But I find it totally usable. And the eye-cup is so very superior to the Nikon ... not only because it stays on, but also because it truly cups the eye with firm but soft rubber, making the focusing experience a pleasure rather than a squinting task.

LOL !!!

As a matter of fact, those are indeed "magic mushrooms" !!!! Amanita muscaria. Very very very powerful. And very very very dangerous. Not even to be touched casually.

Decades ago I had a friend who was out enjoying the autumn woods and when she saw some of those beautiful mushrooms, she touched them and examined them ... and inadvertently liked her fingers (i have no idea why she did that) ... and by the time she got back to the farm, she was 'out there'.

Fairies indeed.

(I probably shouldn't admit this, but I myself do feel that various plants will communicate with us in ways we city dwellers don't understand.)

Great pictures

I too have this lens and it has captured some great bird and wild-life pictures for me.

I have a great 100m prime, but the other day when I was doing a photo-shoot for a group of dancers (from close-up facials to group action distant shots), I used the 28-300. Most real pros would probably slap my hand for doing that, but it allowed me fast composition. And the shoot produced many fine pictures for the dancers promotional uses.

Yes, I have a perfect solution.

I also have a D750, and also had the same problem. Thank goodness I have a local camera store here in Western Massachusetts. I went there to pick up a few extra Nikon "eye-cups" (knowing that eventually I would loose it) and while I was there, they showed me a Hoodman eye-cup made just for the Nikon. It was a bit of a task slipping it on ... took about a minute ... and I love it. It stays on securely. Snugs the eye well. Could be removed with a little careful effort (it's rubber), and it is far superior to the klinky dink eye-cup that came with the D750.

Hoodman makes two Nikon eye-cups ... one for square eyepieces and one for round eyepieces. The D750 takes the one for square eyepieces. They are only $20.

Here is a link. Take a look.
