A possible solution to the problem may be a dirty contanct on the lens mount. It would explain why when reattaching the lens, it works for a bit and the later not. I know how frustrating these glitches can be. Good Luck

I was taught this by a German lens maker. Take a capsule of activated charcoal (at any drugstore) and dip a quetip into it and breath on the lens to cloud it and then gently rub the suface of the lens. It will remove all spots but may leave some charcoal dust on the lens. Take the clean end of the quetip and breath on it to make it receptive to the dust and remove the dust. I have used this technique throughout my large format days and now on my Nikon lenses. Good luck, John

There appear to be a lot of camera freaks out there and then, there are photographers out there. On rare occasions they are both.

Check put the Sunwayfoto leveling heads at BHPhoto. Very high quality at a price one can live with.

The Nikon 200mm micro is a wonderful lens. It is a little slow on the auto focus but has a great manual focus ring. The reason I like this lens so much is not only the superb macro ability of this lens and also the ability to be a distance from the subject but that it is tack sharp at infinity. It is capable of doing double duty as a great mid-range telephoto lens.

This is from MacPhun who have other software on the market. I am not a person to spend a lot of time in pp but I must say this is designed to grow with you as you get more sophisticated as a photographer. I'm not there yet, but it is intuitive for Mac users and although they told me it was still in beta mode for raw images from my Sony a6000 it works fine so far. It doesn't have a cataloguing feature but you can do batch processing.
If you have experience with all of its features including the more advanced masking features etc. I would love to read what you care to share.

I have used the program for about a year and believe it will replace photoshop and lightroom as ones pp program. The reason is simple. it is intuitive and easy to use and rivals photoshop in its completeness for pp. This fall it will become available as a pc program. A beta pc version will be available shortly to try. The one thing lacking as of now is a cataloging function which they say will occur by the end of the year.

Look in the Lightroom library module. Go to library on top and look at the library list and you will note about halfway down "find all missing photos" click on this. This will bring up all your missing photos. Click on the exclamation point. I will bring up another menu of where to look. Follow the menu to where you store your pics and then to the subfolders. Have lightroom search each of the folders until you find it. Good Luck.

Look up image quality in your manual. It is Page 85 in my D800e manual. Save to secondary slot.

Aurora HDR 2017 is a Lightroom plug-in but can also be used as a standalone program

Aurora HDR 2017 is a great program which uses both layers and masking to post-process your pics. In many cases is a cut above photoshop but lacks some of the selection tools. Most photographers I know use it in place of photoshop as it is easier to use and contains many tools better than photoshop and is on sale right now for 89.00 and is yours to use for as long as you want, no subscription. This program works equally well with multiple exposure pics and single exposure pics.

I made a mistake, I called the hub a doc. Bypassing the hub solved my problem. The problem appeared to be that my reader and hub were both usb 3 devices and my computer was a usb 2.

I have had a similar experience with my card reader. The solution to my problem was to: run the usb cable to the camera and download from the camera or, in my case I was using a usb doc., I pluged the card reader directly in the computer bypassing the doc.

Have had a similar problem when I plug my card reader into a hub. The problem disappears when I plug the card reader directly into the computer usb port.
