Problem converting a raw file to dng in Lightroom

Yesterday I downloaded 200+ shots into LR and when finished only two converted to dng. LR said the original file couldn't be found on all the others so could not convert. I tried deleting those, which it would not let me, it just removed them. Tried to import again and the same thing happened. Finally, went through Photoshop Bridge to camera raw and converted to dng, then imported into LR.

Was this an era on my SD card, Lightroom or what? My camera was set to RAW, as always, but this is the first time this has happened. Any help as to why this happened would be appreciated.

I love this group, always learning from you....Thanks!!
Sylvia

That's unusual, did you try to reboot your system and try again? Sometimes the stacks get jacked out of order and a reboot will correct it.

When I have problems in LR I shut it down. When I open it up again it runs fine.

Using Finder or File Explorer, copy all the RAW files to a folder on your desktop. If they copy correctly, then do the LR import from there.

Same for me. BTW I stopped converting to DNG simply was slower in loading

I concur, this is the way I always go when weird unexplained things start to happen.

Have had a similar problem when I plug my card reader into a hub. The problem disappears when I plug the card reader directly into the computer usb port.
