So to move from dx to fx, in Nikon would you start at 620, 750, 810 or 850 (5 is totlly out of discussion).
I have an offer of a job but for some reason they do not want dx. It is portrait work. Please don't grill me on why fx instead of dx, I know for a lot of shots you can compensate, that is just their preference. I know there is $ in lens changes but there may be comp for that but not for the body. They actually will loan you lenses for a time.

This lens makes me think long and hard about saving up for the new mirrorless Nikon. It will supposedly be announced post the camera release.

Ok, got a gig shooting houses for a small real estate firm. They want me to shoot with a 10mm or fisheye like the nikon 10.5 (they know I shoot a D7200). I have a Tokina 11-16 and I don't see a large difference ( I rented a samyang 10mm) between my 11 and that 10. You can crop 1mm. The fisheye thing I don't understand. UHH real estate folks, why would you use a fisheye?

Ok rented an 18-400, used it for about 4 hours and shipped it back. I did compares with my 16-300 and the difference at 300 vs 400 is not that great in my eyes, I can crop that much. Also, the build quality on the one I got was terrible. The zoom ring was very inconsistent going from 18 to 400. It was ok from 18 to about 100/150 but then got real tight to about 250 then loose then tight again. AF seemed to be an issue too as my 7200 struggled to obtain focus (not a big issue with the 16-300). When I switched to MF, the focus ring was so loose that getting focus was extremely touchy. Maybe that was just a bad one but it definitely made up my mind, that would be a no. I will keep the 16-300 and 100-400.

I am looking to reduce weight, packing the 16-300 and the 100-400 along with a D7200 starts to build up. think I will rent the 18-400 and see what it does for what I do.

I have had arthritis in my hands for 40+ years. When I took up photography a few years ago, I too struggled with bags and backpacks. I switched to using the backpack for transport only. When I am actively shooting I use a Black Rapid sling for the camera and a vest for the rest.

I own a Tamon 16-300 and a Sigma 100-400, thinking of selling and getting the Tamron 18-400. Any thoughts, advice?

For those of you that post to stock sites, do you go thru the process of officially copyrighting each picture before posting?

It is predicted to be wet the next couple of weeks, just be prepared. There should be some sun breaks now and then. There has been quite a bit of whale activity in the sound and Straits so if you get a chance you might look into that. The Hoh rainforest in Olympic National Park is always good but a bit wet. I don't know if Hurricane ridge is open but if so there are great views of Olympic NP and the surrounding area.

So basically what I hear is my Tokina 11-16 should be wide enough and anything wider won't be wider by a enough to justify the price. I still haven't heard back as to why they stated fisheye. Thanks for the info.

I have asked them for clarification because of the comments I am getting. It is real estate and their specific request said fisheye so I am trying to find out their goal. Thanks for all the info. I also sent them samples of shots with my Tokina 11-16 to see if that is wide enough. Again, thanks for the feedback.

Ok 11 great but which ones are shsrpest? I don't want a circular, this isn't art photography it's real estate.
I have an 11-16 tokina but they want wider. Not complaining about the responses, just clarifying.

Have a request to produce some pictures with a fisheye. Anyone shooting a fisheye and if so which are the sharpest? Budget around 500.
