A very nice series of candid images, Quickdraw. Hope you weren't forced to demonstrate your fine name at any point. Those knives do look sharp.

Thank you and the knives were only used on the fish.

Oh yea....fishing. It's part of their lives which helps them survive. The other things are part of life in most other cities through out the world. Nothing new!

I'm a grey haired, small white man and I travel alone. My first visit to the fish market was a little iffy. Lots of unfriendly stares and who are you looking for questions from men with very sharp knives they use to clean fish. Are you from the government. No, I'm from the U.S. and I'm looking for a new home so I came here in hopes of learning about your culture. Yes, I really said that and it worked. After many visits and many beers some opened up and let me take a few shots which I'll share. More later.

nice photo's....
on a side note as it is really hard to tell from the photo's you have posted...what is it like in Belize??? actually asking

Difficult question to answer as I've only been here for about 17 days. The people are very friendly. Although English is the language it's sometimes hard to understand as there are
many dialects and some speak very fast so the words tend to run together. Transportation is a bit of an issue.

Excellent image, like a pencil rendering with contrast and texture. Nicely done.

Thank you!

A nice one. I especially like the vendor, and his very relaxed pose.

Thanks.
He was stretched out on the bench when I got there.

Family is a huge factor to the Latino people. The ties are much stronger than most any other people. I'm sure that he greatly appreciated the photos. They are excellent with a different perspective

Thank you very much!

QuickDraw, Your thoughful images made from good perspectives images do, indeed, convey the stories of the sad concerns of Sr. Gomez at the cemetery.

Not sure where I should post this, but here it is.

Old City Cemetery Brownsville TX. I watched him from a distance as he raked dead grass and leaves from two grave sites. He then went to his truck where I engaged him and asked politely if he would tell me his story. He was a soft spoken gentleman of Mexican decent. As he shared his story I was so touched I teared up and my voice quivered as I asked if I could photograph him while he cared for his son and father in laws' grave sites. I'm sending him prints and wanted to share it here.

Yikes! Here we go .. the modern day world. So, was that the Fujifilm camera that made all that noise?
It was, I thank, a canon 40d which I retired for a canon 7d and 5d lll which I retired and recently sold along with all my canon L lenses, no more sports, in favor of sony a7r ll, sony a6000 and olympus E-M1. These are small, light and quite. 5 axis IS in two of the bodies and can shoot in any weather conditions with the oly. Recently out with the 7r ll the temp. dropped to 16 degrees and it quite on me. Pulled out the Oly, and it never missed a beat. IQ is great on all and I have no regrets.

I do not dislike it but their is so much more available here. Why the sneaky shot why not engage em in conversation? A smile pass the time of day then take your shots when your just one of the team. Seen tougher looking girl guides!
Thanks for looking. To answer your question, you might read some of the posts that define street photography. Besides, they were just two butthead kids making rude comments to folks passing by. Street photography is not a team sport.
