I spent the first six-months of 1974 aboard the USS America, ported in Athens Greece. To my recollection, there was NO graffiti anywhere in the city. I shot several hundred Kodachrome slides from the Acropolis to the dense neighborhoods. Now, I am told, graffiti is everywhere, even on historic & ancient structures.
