I did recommend to RENT before buying. Also I did not have the same issue
I have used the Tamron with and with out a canon 2x tel and I was able to shot mountain goat across a canyon in little cottonwood Utah they came out very well. But a very heavy lens. I also shot eagles with a canon 100-400 II w 2x in Yellowstone The canon lens is better but out of my budget. I rented both lens. I suggest you do the same then decide.
I have read some articles that it is having a hard time focusing with some lens like Sigma wide angle art lens. Have you had any trouble with it focusing slow or not at all?
I looking for a new camera, I have some good glass for canon mounts I like to shoot landscapes & wildlife and low light I have a rebel now but looking for a full frame. I also like everyone have a budget of about 1200.00. I have canon and sigma art glass
I started out with a small 250.00 canon that has a lot of options that I could use like f stop but it was small there were no way to change lens. It took good photos some I even sold. But I wanted a nice camera so I got a canon sl1 with two lens and bundle deal EF and EFS lens work on this camera. I then found out about some low cost class at a local camera store, there were 15.00 per class for a hour long but they gave you you money back to you In a gift card for there store. I also found that they rented camera and lens to use so that’s where I stared using EF lens only I have now bought two lens. A canon EF 24-105 I bought it used for 350.00 and a sigma 50mm art lens I bought it new for 600.00 also a good tripod new for a 100.00 and fillers. I keep try to learn as much as I can about this hobby and I have my eyes set on a new camera. I shoot in raw I rent flashes I use photoshop I like to shot wildlife and young kids and homeless folks, there faces tell a story. Go rent before you buy. It helped me
they make two, one is there standard lens and the other is there sport lens which is much faster, I have looked and read a lot on the reviews, so if I was going to buy one it would be the sports model with a 1.4 extender. I would also look at biding for it on greentoe.com. This lens was not out at the time I rented a canon 100-400 II with a 2x extender for a week in Yellowstone the rent for a week was 100.00 to buy the lens is 2199.00
this is what I did. I rent the lens that I am looking at before in buy. I love my sigma 50 mm art
ok Thank You for your help
no I don't have one, I can always find someone to hold one. I can rent one also this will be a late afternoon shot
yes it is outside in the mountain in Utah with fall colors
I was told that because my camera is not a full frame the lens I put on it is not the same as the lens, it is larger, am I thinking wrong ?
I have a canon sl1 apcs format and my son has ask me to do some portraits of him and his girl friend, I am not sure what lens to rent
