What a great shot, I didn't know hummingbirds fly at night or are you using a black back drop?

Here is my road in front of our house. It’s about half mile to the black top road. So out of the way, we don’t see but maybe half dozen vehicles all day and half of them are trash truck, ups, etc. Becomes a river in the heavy rains and when it snows we all have to 4x.
It’s in the county but the residents maintain it. Love my road…

Quite...and peaceful, are you around Joshua Tree, I love it up there.

Thank you, yes very quiet. It's just west of lucerne or est of apple valley...county.

I think it is a nice photo, peaceful and happy. I would remove the stone from the bottom left corner. I fooled with it in Photoshop CS2. I added clouds to the sky, in render of the filters. Then I went to filters again used distort and spherize. Then I added a blue gradient to the photo and reduced its clarity. Sharpened it just a little. But I like the original without the stone.

Hi Elisab, looks great. It does have the surreal peaceful look like seeing it in a dream. When I shot the original, I had full intention of cropping. Thanks for your version, Larry

Your edited version I like. I did not see the cabins in original, and now they are central to the photo.

I use free Picasa 3 with free Picnic for all tweaking of my macro work.

Thank you for the input Douglass, it was on one of your post that I found this pacasa 3 and picnik.
Looks like there is more options using ps, like clouds. Maybe with time I will upgrade.
By the way, I really like your web site and the macro photos and that you list your camera settings. I have a 100mm canon macro lens and with your info should at least get a start instead of running in blind...thanks again. Larry

Thank you all for your kind words. I would really like to see what someone with "ps" can do with this original as it is supposed to be so much better. But pp work has made a believer out of me, normaly I would have trashed this original. It is true that the cameera does not pick up all that the eye sees and with this pp software you can restore that.
Now I can't wait to play withsome others I thought to be no good.

Ok, here is my first pp presentation. Anyone want to play with the original and let me know what you think of the edited version.

A professional is one who gets paid for what they do. But I would rather look to them as a leader in the occupation they are in. Someone once said, “A good leader makes good leaders”. There are a lot of good leaders on this form and there are a few who need to pull their horns in. But I look to all and glean what I can as there is always something to learn from anyone.

I personally don't associate lack of spelling skills to being a stupid person. I get in a hurry sometimes and hit a key wrong. Also the auto-spell feature on I-phones and similar can change the spelling without you noticing it did it. Being stupid about spelling are those that would limit another's opportunity to express themselves by ridicule. It is a form of bullying and inappropriate among friends! Jerry

Perhaps the word “stupid” should have been “lack of typing skills”. I don’t and would not put anyone down because they don’t know how to use the key board. And you are right about the I-phones giving a false reading…been there done that.
In my case, knowing that I have in the past has had bad experience with type-o’s and grammar, etc. I would use this MSWord 2010 to offset that problem as best I could. If it is available, why not use it?

I am one of those who have a hard time spelling, so I rely on M S Word 2010 for spelling and grammar correction. It’s a lot easier than asking the wife to proof read my stuff. Just type out and do the corrections then copy and paste into the UHH reply box. I would rather do that than to let everyone know how stupid I am.
Hope this helps someone.

Ok, I'll bite. I'm retired with the wife working today so I get to do the honors. Not bad if I do say so myself. Cutting it up is a different story.
Hope everyone is having a happy turkey day.
