My old monitor when on the fritz this morning.

Looking at ordering a BenQ PD2500Q. It is 2560 x 1440 resolution with a 25 inch screen. My Graphics Card is a GTX 1050 Ti. My question is, will that card support the 2560 x 1440 when used for Photoshop and ON 1 RAW?

I have researched this to the point of a headache. Everything I can find is centered around gaming, frame rates, and refresh rates. I know that is important to gaming and my card may be inadequate for that.

However I am not a gamer, just using it for post processing, no animation or video editing, so will the GTX 1050 Ti work for that purpose.

Thanks in advance for any input to this dilemma.

I have attached a screen shot to help explain what I mean. I like using Photomorphis Texture Bites (and other texture sources), however when I post a photo to a site like SmugMug or 500 pix the copyright data stays attached to the photo like it is not mine but belongs to someone else.

The following is from the IPTC content data, which show I have the right to use the files for both personal and commercial use

You are permitted to use our textures for both personal and commercial purposes, including derivative works. However you may not resell or redistribute the textures in any other way, modified, unmodified, standalone or combined with another product without prior written (email) consent from us. Restrictions on Use: You may not sell, license or distribute its final product in such a way that permits the licensee’s end users to extract or access the Image(s) as a stand-alone file. Modifications: You are permitted to make whatever modifications necessary to our textures to make them fit your requirements. However, they will still be subject to this license regardless of the extent of the modification. Unauthorized Distribution: You may not place any of our textures, modified or unmodified, on a disk, CD, website or any other medium and offer them for redistribution or resale in a fashion that would violate this license. These texture files remain the exclusive property of Photomorphis.

So how do i remove the data that is shown on the left side of the attached screen shot?? I am not posting the texture files themselves only my completed work. Sometimes this completed work is from texture files of two or three different sources blended together. I am not violating the agreement so why can i not remove the data?

Looking at noise reduction software options to use as Photoshop CC 2019 plugin. All seem to have there pros and cons. Been using Topaz DeNoise 6 and mostly satisfied with the results. However as things have moved on with Topaz to DeNoise AI, I am wondering if DeNoise 6 is still being updated as needed to be compatible windows 10 updates and Photoshop CC.

So I am shopping around for noise reduction software and have been reading about Neat Image 8.4, are any of you using it and if so what do you think?

Of course there is also DXO Pro Elite which seems to be an entire edit program so not sure how easily that that would work as a plugin.

Neat Image seems to be more cost effective. And there seems to be a lot of mixed feelings about Topaz AI..........

Thank you for any input you may have.

Photos taken by my wife, using Canon T5i & 18-135 kit lens. Post processing by me, using ACR, PS 2019 CC, On1 2019 in the effects module, and slight tweak with Focus Magic.

The lake is high in the mountains of western Utah & the road shot is (Colorado) foot of Douglas Pass, south side looking north.
Attached is original and post processed of each.

My first opportunity to photograph these flies. The female lays one or two eggs on a leaf that a moth caterpillar is feeding on, the caterpillar eats the egg, it hatches as a parasitic larvae and eats the insides from the caterpillar, then emerges and pupates, and transforms into the adult stage and sucks plant nectar for the remainder of its life cycle. A beneficial fly that reportedly is sometimes imported and used to control damaging moth populations.

The beetle i have not been able to find identity for.

Both photographed in Western Colorado along the San Miguel River.

You can work from your external drive as if it was inside your computer. It won't be as fast to open or save, but that shouldn't be that big a deal. Once you open a file from your external drive, it resides in your disk memory so it would be the same speed in editing.

Thanks Joe Blow. I will try it.

I have recently purchased two WD MY PASSPORT 1 TB external hard drives. I have copied all my photographs to each of them. I also backup all my photographs on line/cloud via the service "IDrive". I have never deleted any of my photographs (that I wanted to keep from my PC hard drive). It just gives me a strange/uneasy feeling to hit that delete button on my PC. Backed up as I am now is it safe to do so?...... I need the room.

Your thoughts and comments please....

Also; can I work on a raw file in Photoshop while it is on the external drive or do i have to bring it back onto my PC??
