There certainly was an abundance of birds in the SNP and the Chestnut-sided Warbler is a first for me...so I was certainly excited about getting a chance to photograph it!
Just happened to be driving past the cross this weekend and pulled off to take a picture or two. I still need to rotate it slightly, but thought I would share it with everyone.
I just got the lens in the mail yesterday. It is an old 400mm sigma lens. I think I am going to like it. I am using it on my D200. I think I am starting to see a theme in my equipment. All old second hand but it fits my budget. :) We used to farm like this also. Old second hand equipment. When the bottom fell out in the 80's we were some of the few that got to keep the farm because we weren't mortgaged over our heads.
This is a two image composite of 1.Devils Canyon Overlook and 2. Indian taken at a festival several years ago. I wanted the image to have an old time, wild west feel.
Great photo you created just what you was looking for. I wish I had enough computer experience to work photo shop :(
