yea I just looked at myD90 , it would fairly easy to carve a piece of wood to fit in the space under the flash if it stops when you open it at the spot where it should . or if it's there now and just won't lock when it pushed down . you can always buy a flash the small one it's called something 400 it's all you need
you don't need the 600 or 900 or 950 the 400 will give you more than you got now and there cheaper than a repare of the one on there it will more than likely be $200 or there abouts . a used d90 is only $450 with a len's , I'll sell you one of mine . I'm serious
yea I just looked at myD90 , it would fairly easy ... (show quote)

Thank you but I would rather invest the money to have it fixed. I really like my D90 so I would rather fix it and have routine maintenance on it at the same time. Then I will save for another lens instead of a new body.
:D

I have two 90d does your flash still work when tou want it to. if it cost to much to fix , and it still works , I would just figure a way to tie it or tape it down when it's not needed

The flash does work still. I'm just worried about it getting more severely broken.

I would contact Nikon and speak with them in regards to your pop-up flash issue. https://www.support.nikonusa.com/app/contact

Here is a list of authorized repair locations http://www.nikonusa.com/en/Service-And-Support/Nikon-Authorized-Repair-List.page

Thank you so much!

I would use Nikon service who will return it to you like new. You can contact them for an estimate before sending it off. Google Nikon Repair Service to printout the form and for contact and shipping instructions. ;)

Thank you so much for your help!

My Nikon D90's flash no longer locks down so I need to send it in for service. Am I correct in that the best place to get it fixed would send it to Nikon or is there somewhere else? I was going to upgrade but I'm very happy with my D90 so I would rather get it fixed and have routine services done on it and get another lense instead.

Maybe some help. I'm working on a book currently. If I don't like a particular page layout, I go to Picasa, which has a good collage creator, save the collage and upload to the book as a full page image.

That is a great idea I never thought of. Thank you for sharing! I'm working on one right now so this will be very useful.

I've been very impressed with my books from MyPublisher. FYI Shutterfly now owns MyPublisher

Mine go onto a digital picture frame and some of them will be turned into handmade gifts. Ex. Tile coaster and necklaces.

I burn two DVD's incase one "fails" and both of those go to my inlaws. Then I back up on Two external hard drives that remain at my house. Seems a bit excessive but all it takes is losing your photos once to take extra precautions to make sure it never happens again.

Are the cards you're using too many GB's for that camera? I had that problem with my D50, it won't read anything larger than 2GB. Good luck!

Shutterfly recently acquired MyPublisher. I haven't noticed any changes except for some additional options. Has anyone else noticed anything?
