Not sure I totally understand your problem. I open L/R, connect my XQD card to the computer, and click Import. After the Import finishes, the images are in L/R for me to edit and categorize as I choose.
I don't know that I would invest in books or not. As often as LR is upgraded before long the books are not a lot of help.
Laura Shoe has a complete course for LR which she upgrades every time LR upgrades (every tow minutes or so) and I believe she will work with you 1/1 for a fee. Anyway, I went from a complete novice in LR to fairly proficient using it.
If you want shots of huge ships, the east end of the island is great for that.
alandg46, thanks for the input. I was told about the same when I bought my camera; to get the most out of it, I should go with the XQD version. Then I read here that XQD cards were on their way out. Looks like that was misinformation. BTW, I live in Dallas.
Thanks. That's what I bought! Gave my D4s to my son and bought a D5. Hope XQD technology is around for a few more years! Thanks again.
I was told that XQD cards were the future of digital photography. I have read on UHH, that was not case that these were actually being phased out. Anybody have any knowledge on this? thanks!
I'll give it a look. Thanks.
Laura Shoe Lightroom. Not free but very thorough. Updates via email.
The 24-120 is a pretty good walk around lens as well. seems sharper than the 28-300.
Glad you brought this up. I have clicked 'size to fit', I have adjusted the printer. I still end up with a 1/16 inch border around my photos. I have been doing this for 10 years and have never had this issue. Printer is a Canon Pro 9000 Mk 2.
Could do a better job, how. Is it sharper than the VR II model? I am shooting a D5 so lens speed is not as critical as on some cameras.
Thanks, Jim! That is what I was hoping to hear.
I purchased the G VR II version several months ago. is the upgrade worth it at this point?
Thanks.
While in Honolulu a couple of years ago, I could not find a camera store to buy 'professional equipment'. The one store I did find carried the same equipment that could be found in Walmart, Best Buy, etc. In the Dallas area, I buy my equipment from Competitive Camera. Been dealing with the same sales force there for 10 years. Always friendly and helpful. I do pay sales tax but find the compromise worth it.
Long time follower of UHH, first time to reply.
