OMG, I've been muddling through the trial subscription of LR for 3 days and I am making very little progress. Yes, I've listened to many of the tutorials. Is there something one of you could recommend for a new beginner? I have managed to import a few photos. One I even love! BUT I want to import more. And I think I'm doing everything I'm supposed to but then I can't find them. Where did they go? What am I doing wrong? Many thanks! (Should probably add that I am using Lightroom Classic CC.)

Lr is not a program that you can intuitively pick up and go with. Udemy.com has several lightroom courses right now for $14.99 and less. They may take you the entire trial period to go thru but by then you’ll have the knowledge to use it and can decide whether to subscribe or not.

Thank you. I will go spend many hours there. Thanks.
Are the images already on your hard drive and you're just importing to get them into lightroom? In that case you would just choose "Add" at the top of the import screen - the images will be left right where they were to begin with.
If you're importing from a card then make sure you're choosing the destination over on the right side of the screen.
If possible you could post some screen shots of your Import screen just before you click to import. Are you using Mac or Windows? LR will look the same but your default destinations will be different.
Thanks. Can't wait!! Really appreciate the direction.

I tried signing up for one of the courses and it let's me type in my CC number but not the expiration, etc. Not sure why the site is not working. Bummer!

Don’t pay for anything yet. As other have said, check out Julieanne Kost first.
FWIW, yes, LR is different at first but quite suddenly you’re going to flip over to thinking “why don’t other software packages let me work this way?” . Jump from one image to another, no opening, no saving, no 2nd copies with edits. To be sure, it’s not perfect and lacks some features other apps offer but the fundamental way it works leaves me dissatisfied with every other application I’ve tried so far.

Was in rhe same quandry just a few weeks ago and was about to delete LR and go back to Mac Photos.
Then for $35.00 I found
www.Lynda.com. They have hundreds of great “ how to” courses. There I found a course on Lightroom Classic by Jan Kabili. It was EXCELLENT. I devoted one weekend, got thru each of the course chapters all on video, and I was up and running. Whnever I have a question, I return to the short video on that topic for a review.
The only downside is that she speaks a little too quickly, but in the long run its better since every sentence is packed with valuable info.
It’s now about 4 weeks since I spent the weekend doing that course and I have LR down pat. It was worth every penny of the $35.
I used the Laura Shoe videos. Well worth the small cost. I now have nearly 60k images in Lightroom...
Creative Live is also another source for good training videos.

youtube and Anthony Morganti LR videos. Totally free and very well done. There are other free ones but stay with one author as they each have specific workflow. If you switch videographers it will confuse the newbie.
I was in the same boat, I bought the book "Lightroom CC Complete Training: Learn the Entire Photographer's Workflow in the new Lightroom CC" by Serge Ramelli. I am using Lightroom with little frustration. I can go back to the book and quickly solve any problems I run into. Very easy to follow step by step.
