Changed the levels, darken the highlights, and just added a touch more color.

Very nice job, nice to see an actual IR photo. Nice work.

Thanks. I hadn't looked at the first two threads. But after going back and looking at many of them, the shots by Fuzzycoach still stand out. They are good! There are many other good shots, but these were exceptional.

Yes Coach does a great job on his IR....

I have looked at all the shots and I vote for the shots by Fuzzycoach as having the best shots (page 22). I tend to favor the Black & Whites, but I did see a few that had swapped the Blue and Red channels and got something really good.
I will post one here show the side of a canyon. The IR in Black & White tends to make the eye pay attention to detail.

Jim.... Here are the first two 100 pages each of our infrared shots, if you care to look through them. We are on thread # 3
right now..... Mike

Is one street photography and the other street portraiture? Do you prefer one to the other? If so why? Is it because you prefer pictures of people to pictures of streets with people? Do you prefer pictures where the subject fills the frame or do you like a bit more "real estate" to put the subject in a place?

I wasn't trying to argue with anyone....;0) Just answering Grahams question above on what I liked best, and I agree everyone looks at things differently. I had no way of knowing if Graham ever knew who Russ was or had ever seen any of his photos. That's why I suggested he look him up. I wish I had someone that interesting, like what Graham posted, to photograph....;0) Nothing wrong with Grahams work in anyway, it's really outstanding. It was also the first time I have seen any of Grahams photos also.

Yes ... every one of his pics looks the same. You don't have any clues to what the person's story is. You just have the very well done portraits of many people that live on the street. His work does focus on their faces, not their lives ... IMHO

Nightski... Not all of them are street people, you don't have to live on the street to have that look. I've known guys that looked like that, and were not street people. Just because some of the picture were taken on the street, does not mean they live there or are homeless. I've had a few biker friends that were well off, but looked like they were homeless, and I wouldn't have wanted to have meet them in a dark alley, if I had not known them....;0) Russ's shots leave that up to your imagine nation in my opinion.

Thanks Mike.

Graham.... Do a search of Palepictures on here. Russ does some of the best street photography I've seen. He mainly does head and shoulders, or just the main face, with background blacked out. The person is your main subject, not the background. The background is usually just a distraction. We could all learn a lot from his excellent work. Spelled with no space in his name as printed.

I myself would crop so it showed just his head and facial features, eliminating all the background clutter. Just my opinion.

Apache Lake Desert area is another great area to photograph. It's located just a little east of the Scottsdale area. I use to hunt that area several years ago.

That is one thing that I really like with infrared. If you don't like one color you can change it. It is wonderful to play with. Here is a peak aboo of the mountain in B&W or slightly colored. See what makes her happy I would like to see your ideas on color.

Swede... She was wondering what the name of the lake where you shot this was?

My wife's from that area, so I showed her your Mt Rainer shot, because she remembers going up Mt. Rainer when there was only a one lane car road, with pull outs every so often for others to pass. She didn't like the blue trees....;0) So I showed her how it looked with light gold trees, which she liked better....;0)
