jbeejay, I'm thinking your posting at a very low resolution
is more a problem than a focus problem. When downloading photos give them 250 or 300 resolution to work on them. Do make correction on highlights to bring up all detail that's possible & sharpen slightly.

The back lighting is nice on the second one. Try to darken the sun spot on the third one for more detail.

Your focus is off, darken the highlights a little.
When you post size to 800 wide or 600 high & 300 resolution.
