I played around with white balance while getting some shots of the Gold-crowned Sparrows that are wintering here. Some were shot with the "cloudy" setting, others with the "sunny" setting. I can't decide which I like better - warm or cool. Any thoughts?
With the green leaves, I like the warm tones - thinking spring or summer and warm (everything that is not happening here at the moment - lol)
An interesting study, Vicki!
Both sets are sharp. Which is which?

Great shots. I love the warm.
I prefer the warm. I think warm is "cool". Nice images Vicki.

For me I like the second two photo's..
I believe the main subject of the photo is the bird and for me the bird just stands out much more in the later two photos...In the first two my eyes seem to wander away from the birds and just makes it to busy for me...just my humble opinion....not taking anything away at all from the first two photos..... :) ....Tom

I like the images with the sunshine white balance the best because the bird seems to pop out ( a little more contrasty) and it has more natural looking green leaves in my opinion.

All are excellent captures, Vicki!
I prefer the warmer tones of the first two myself. I think they show the colors of the birds more naturally than the last two.
To me the last pic is showing a very slight blue/gray tinge on the chest feathers.
Of course I don't think you will get a definitive answer as which two images look better, as different viewers will have different opinions.
will
Beautiful set and I prefer the first two, Vicki!
I like the first two also.
Definitely prefer the warm.

It isn't about you, or your taste.
What color are the birds supposed to be?

Think I like the warm also!!
I think it depends on the story. Summer photos green leaves warm weather then I like the warm WB. Winter, cold, barren trees, I would prefer a cooler color balance.
