That’s the Bear Mountain Bridge. I’ve actually walked that foot bridge and along the water there. Wish we had met before I retired and moved away from Westchester 2 years ago Gene. Would have been nice to have a photo buddy. I took this at the reservoir in croton.
Both are beautiful Gene but the second was definitely worth the return trip. I live in the beautiful White Mountains of NH and just got some new equipment. I’m looking forward to going out and playing with it. I was just curious about how others go about their photography. Thanks everyone for the input.
Hi all! Just got back from taking some pics and I was wondering…..do you guys scout out and set up your shots or do you just go out and shoot when comes along? I always say I want to go out and shoot certain things under certain lighting conditions but I find that I do more “see what comes along” type of outings. Share your techniques with us please. Below are what “came along”.
Couldn’t find the B&W version but these are some pretty great shots. I’d be proud to say I took them.
Definitely not tack sharp. That’s something I’m working on for the next 13 months with a new camera and additional lens to my collection. If you figure out how all these amazing photographers get such incredible images please share. Nice photo. I’d stick to the canon if it’s sharper.
Can you give me more. I think it’s pretty good from 40 miles on a 50D. Wondering if I’ll get my money worth out of this lens on my new R6. Can only play with it on my 50 D till I get the converter.
Took this pic of the Mt Washington observatory from about 29-30 miles away. Thoughts, feedback, criticism. All welcome. Looking forward to putting it on my new EOS R6 once I get the converter.
Wow Harry. Your girl is 20 years younger. You go boy. Lol. I do shoot all of my lenses. Really looking forward to connecting them to the R6 and seeing what they’re capable of.
Harry, thanks. My thinking all along is that by overlapping several lenses and giving myself a wide range of coverage I should be able to make it work.
Thanks everyone for the feedback especially those of you using the R6. I'm really looking forward to getting my converter so I can start practicing. I am getting a monopod Image and will practice with that. Looking forward to seeing what IBIS and the 1D sensor can do in this camera. Thanks again all.
Thanks for the input all. I have 13 months before the cruise so I might just upgrade my 70-300 before then.
Resqu2:
Came down to price and capability. For my needs it made more sense to get the R6 and spend the additional $1400 on a nice piece of glass to expand my reach in the field. R6 may “only” be 20 np but with the ibis and the 1D processor it performs better than most cameras with more pixels. Just my conclusion based on hours of research. Your needs may be different.
It's the original70-300 IS. Not the newer one.
Thanks nervous. Any thoughts on the R6?
