How much would you sell the lens for?
Thank you. I thought I would just check.
I would love to purchase it then. I'm sure I used one of these at a workshop I took once (they let us borrow or test lenses) and it was a nice lens.
Do you accept PayPal? My zip code for shipping would be 46777.
Is this still available. I have a Nikon D7100 and would love to have a good macro lens. I'm assuming that it would work. I'm still so new at this as I know I have a crop sensor camera.
I tried the lens last night. It fits the camera fine. I have three different sized extension tubes so it should be good
Yes. That looks very much like it. The only difference are the numbers at the end. Mine says 182433. Maybe that's just a serial number for the specific lens.
The link provided by Rwilson1942 was $134. So maybe $100. He said he got it for $60. Would this be a good lens to use for Macro work?
I'll look there for some information. It's a manual focus lens but from what I've learned that's what I would use for macro work anyway. I'm excited to play with it for sure.
I'm new to macro photography and have really enjoyed doing the little bit I have. I bought some extension tubes but it just isn't quite the same as a nice lens.
I have a friend who said he would sell me a lens and to just make him an offer. I have NO idea what would be a fair offer. The lens seems really well made. It's older I believe but it's heavy and doesn't seem to have plastic. The lens states Micro-Nikkor 105mm 1:4 182433 up around the top and it says that it was made in Japan.
Any thoughts on 1. if this is a good lens and 2. a fair price to him?
I'm new and I've asked similar questions to that as well. No question is dumb and even after we read things sometimes a more experienced person can explain it better than scientific jargon.
Welcome and enjoy your learning.

The Big question is? are you having fun? If so, why care?
I couldn't agree with this comment more. Why is your winning or getting a higher placement important to you. I think photography is like any art form whether that be, painting, sculpting, pictures or music or any other form. The beauty and LOVE of it comes from the soul of the creator.
One thing that kept me from photography for so long was that I felt I wasn't good enough. I finally decided that if I liked my photos and had fun taking them that had to be important.
I'm taking many classes, looking at many photographs and seeing where I can learn to improve but in the end the result will be something that is more pleasing to me.
Good luck, I do like the picture too :D
I really appreciate the comments here. As new to this seeing this changes really helps me
