That is common with the Nikon 18-200. i have one and used it for a number of years and always had the problem. I purchased the Nikon 18-300 and no lens creep. Same basic weight and size as the 18-200.

I use only the 28-300 on my D7200. In fact it is my only lens. Meets all my requirements.

I am using the SB600 I used on my D80 on my D7200. So far no problems have been noted and I have been totally satisfied with the photos. It should work just fine on the D7100.

If you are interested in aviation, then don't miss the Fort Worth Aviation Museum, 3300 Ross Avenue
Fort Worth, Texas 76106. This address is north of the city at Meacham Airport. Quite a nice display of military aircraft and also home of the Forward Air Controller Museum.

In my younger days, I had a Canon F-1 will all the lens. Really got worn out carrying around a big bag with a number of lens. So made the decision to try a single lens setup to lighten my load. When I bought the Nikon D80, I used the 18-200 for a number of years and loved it. Recently upgraded to a Nikon D7200 and decided to step up to the 18-300. It is essentially the same size and weight as the 18-200 and gives more zoom. I use it as my only and walk around lens and I am happy with it. It was not a cheap decision but worth the cost of the upgrade. After all, I will travel this road of life only once and I am not getting any younger.

I upgraded from a Nikon D80 to the D7200. Was looking at the D7100 because the D7200 was just being released. I decided that because of the "minor" improvements in the new camera and and this would be a major upgrade for me to buy the D7200. At the time I purchased from Nikon there was only about $200 difference. Enough of why I did it, I love the camera. Not one second of regret. The low light capability, buffer size etc made it worthwhile for me. I took it to Machu Picchu one week after getting it. Great pictures and I am happy. And after all, if I am happy then that is all that matters.

I was looking for a pocket size camera and chose the Nikon Coolpix 130AW. It has been a great camera so far to carry in my pocket and use instead of hauling the D7200 all the time. It meets all of your requirements i.e small, 16MP, and it is under $300. Today $276 and pocket change at Amazon. One of the features I like is it is waterproof down to 100 ft. What more could you ask for?

The larger keyboard with numeric keypad is great. If you are a PC user, the delete key on the small keyboard will drive you crazy. It does what the backspace key on a PC does and not delete as you are use to it. Now for the new keyboard. First of all, the touch/feel of the keys is very pleasant and positive (I LIKE) and it has two delete keys. The one in the place of the backspace key on the PC does exactly what you expect, backspace and delete as it goes. The other delete key will delete what follows the cursor. YOU WILL LIKE IT. I recommend the one with the numeric keypad.

I should also add that I currently run a MAC mini with I7 processor, 16 GB ram and 1TB HD. Enjoy it very much. I still use a Dell laptop since I have a requirement for some programs that are available only on a PC for sometime in the future. They are mostly ham radio programs and I have not found MAC versions yet. Still looking. So upgrading to the Apple MAC keyboard with the numeric keypad was a given since it works just like a PC keyboard. Makes going from one system to the other much easier. Sorry for all the gab.

73s to all.

You will love the D7200. I just returned from Peru and Ecuador with mine and it performed wonderfully. The low light capability impressed me. I have the 18-200mm which I have used for years on my D80 and loved it as my walk around lens. However, upon finding the 18-300mm which is basically the same size and weight as the 18-200, I opted to buy it. I have not regretted the decision at all. I am extremely pleased with my photos from the trip.

For wet climates (Amazon) and the Galapagos Keen makes an excellent water sandal. It washes up well and drys fairly fast. Not cheap but durable and comfortable.
