I have a telephoto lens that is creeping down. Is there anyway to fix that?

From your excellent description of the lens, I'd say yes.

Apart from the cynical attitude, you have any serious intention of helping? Same to guy after you.
OP do a ebay search for a little gadget called Lens Band. You could do the same with a wide rubber band too.

You'll be astonished to learn that there is more than one way to correct the problem, depending upon the type of lens and where the creeping is occurring.

Thank you for the information. The lens is a 18-200.

My 18-200 doesn't just creep it slides. I use a wide rubber band to keep it under control.

I say, you appear reluctant to divulge much information, but I'll offer this. If it is a slide zoom and the zoom ring creeps when tilted up or down, a competent repair technician should be able to tighten it. If it is a two-ring lens and the zoom ring turns when tilted, it's likely due to a poor design and there is little you can do but use a lens band or rubber band. Rather cheesy at best, but it will work. Any well-made lens should exhibit no creep when new, but can loosen up with use. Good luck!

You'll be astonished to learn that you provided ZERO help to the OP's question with your first response and this one. Good job.

Or a stretchy hair band. They come in a lot of colors for about 20 cents.

I suppose if one just looks to criticize, fault can be found with most anything someone says. For me, I interpreted the first comment to be a good-natured request for enough information on which to base a solution, and therefore was helpful. And your comment above provided no help to anyone, least of all yourself!

This is the best answer. The lens band works well.
