I'm talking plus or minus mid 2000s. I (rehash) had an Olympus FE-140. It took nice Sharp pics for a 2006 camera but the battery doors are no good on them. So I bought an FE-210. The door works very nicely but the photos are not as sharp as the older 140. Go figure. Wishing they came with a repair manual. Yeah I know, I should just buy a good used DSLR. In the meantime maybe you nice folks had some decent cameras from the 2000s you would like to recommend. BTW, I prefer cameras that take two AA batteries. Yeah I buy stuff on fleabay. Thanks :(

P.S. After I get the struts replaced on my 99 mitsubishi and water in my cistern (no well here) I'll ask about DSLRs :)

I have and older Samsung WB1100F, 35X zoom bridge, a Canon SX50 I might sell, 50X zoom bridge,...Canon ELPH 360 12X zoom,...and a Canon 720IS 40X zoom. skybones

Gretchen, my Belgian Malinois, is almost impossible to get a clear picture. Just doesn't seem to like the camera pointed at her.

After deciding to keep my Lumix zs60, I've decided to order a printed guide/manual. I really want to like this camera, and hope this helps out. Meanwhile, I saw a Canon sx720 on sale, so had to buy it! 40x zoom and a menu I am familiar with! LOL. They are almost identical in size/weight. Thnx to all you folks with your helpful comments.

I did figure out a few things on the zs60. Going to keep it at least a few more days and see if it'll work for me. I like the size/feel of this camera and so want to keep it,...but have to be able to figure it out,...without a computer and guide to look thru! It came with absolutely no guide/paperwork. Thanks to all for your replies and help,...and by all means,...let me know any more ideas if you have them!!!

If only I could find one for the zs60. Sending it back. I'm sure its a great camera,....but bought for a 'point-n-shoot', don't have time to try to figure out the menu for the simplest features....whilst missing the shot! I had hoped,...but its just too difficult.

Thanks to all for your input. I ordered a Lumix zs60. I have a few trips coming up and would like to enjoy 'hands free', so I hope this pocket size, long zoom, viewfinder
camera does the trick! We'll soon find out. Thnx again for your help.

I love my Canon SX50. I'm no pro, I want a small, lightweight camera for vacation and holiday photography. It's so easy compared to a DSLR to tote around without getting heavy on the neck! No lens changing! Kudos for the bridge!!!!!

Saw a Canon refurbished 18x zoom on their sight for 129.00. Its a pocket size p&s. It's a red Powershot SX 610. Also a Powershot ELPH 190 IS for 99.95. Nice little cameras with full Canon warranty.

I have a Canon SX50 and take it everywhere. Small, lightweight, fixed zoom lens with lots of settings. Has a viewfinder and swing out screen, shoots in raw....etc! Great little camera,....in my opinion.
