Very noisy. I shot a couple of short videos and they have the noise. My dad was the bombardier. I was able to get up into his spot. It was tight and I am not a large person.

Was able to fly in one of these recently. My dad fought a war in one. Not the best photo in the world but I like how it turned out. I was happy to get the city, prop and wing. From a photography perspective the morning flight, with the sun behind us, would have been better but it was cancelled. Plane was a little bouncy and other were trying to get shots as well. Nikon D500- 18-105 lens.

I cropped most of mom out to try to just get the cub. Looking for thoughts. Should I crop more of mom, from the bottom, out or leave it alone?

Nikon 5100, 300MM lens.

Any feed back is appreciated. TIA

How did I do? Nikon 5100 with a 70-300 zoom. About 25-30 feet away. Open topped Land cruiser. Northern Serengeti.

The Cheetah was the only one of the Big five + Big four we hadn't seen. On the way to the bush airstrip to start our journey home. Sharp eyed passenger thought she saw a Simba. Turned out to be a Cheetah and her cub. She liked to pose. Sometimes you just get lucky.

No edits yet.

Thoughts?

I would guess we were about 100 or so yards from the trees and this guy was about 30-40 feet up.

In the rain forest. 5100 - 18-105 lens. Shot from a canoe. We were really lucky, saw 15 or so different ones.

Needless to say, I didn't take this. :-D

Lucky plane, two different crews made their numbers and came home. Sent to the scrappers in late 1945. Despite the nose art it was named for a dog.

The altitude was around 12,500 feet or so, if the guide book is correct. The canyon is about 9,000 feet deep here.

Also thanks for all the kind words from everyone.

For a year long trip around the world I took a Nikon 5100 and my ancient D50. I wanted a back up in case something happened to the 5100 and the D50 came in handy for for tough conditions.

For example when we went sand boarding in Peru. If sand got into the D50 and ruined it so be it. I also used in places where you were told not to show an expensive camera. If someone was to steal it, nothing worth fighting for.

Colca Canyon in Peru. They had been flying around the point. I took a chance and moved away from the pack. Caught this guy as he headed home. Nikon 5100, Nikon 18-105. Don't remember the settings.

I like that. The snow is a nice touch, gives you the feeling of time passing away. I spent about two weeks in Metz, about an hour north. They have several great old forts and was a good place to see part of the Maginot line.

While the summer weather, and lighting was great, I thought a winter snow scene would be more evocative. You proved that with your shot. Thanks.

I was standing in a canoe when I shot this. Nikon 5100, Nikon 18-105 lens. I drug that lens around the world and it came through like a champ. I was in program mode. Because of all the movements of the bird and the canoe I decide to let the camera do some of the thinking. Basic clean up for editing and cropping. Nothing was done to the bird in terms of edits.
