Depth of field is greater at small arpatures. 1/1000 so the birds don't move. Yes depth of field is not always a problem but autofocus when bird is in back causes branches to be in focus and bird to be fuzzy. You do not always have the time to adjust focus if bird is a fast moover and always jumping around.

I may have been a member for 3 or 4 years but when I need a question answered this is where I ask and it is not an absurd question because I didn't have the information necessary. I have tried to do exactly as they said and my exposures are always over or under exposed which is why I asked it hoping that maybe I was doing something wrong

I have a nikon d5300 and in auto mode it seems to want to always go to the maximum arpature. I found how to set minimum shuuter speed but cannot find how to set a fixed arpature
With birding you need to set to f22 or smaller and i just callot find where this setting is since it is not on the lens itself.

I wish I could find the setting on my Nikon D5300 that would never let the aperture shoot at less than F16. I lose so many photos due to it insisting that I shoot at f5.6 if i put it in automatic mode with my telephoto

Without some form of contract you can not do anything about it. It happens all the time.

It is unfortunate but I must have to admit that I have lost photos on class 10 PNY cards. They normally work the first few times but after a week or so they suddenly are not recognized by the camera. I was able to read in my computer so emptied them and reformatted them and they worked a few times and same thing happened. went back to San Disk and never had any more problems.

I have had my share of problems with corrupted files. This is why I never re-save any file with the same name. Save the file then check with separate vile viewer before closing the file you just saved. This prevents many unwanted headaches trying to get the picture you just edited back to the way you had it. the larger the pic the more likely it will be corrupted. also go not forget to close the memory card or memory stick/thumb drive before removal.

Right now it is a Chamonix 45n-2. I hope to have one by the end of the year. It is a beautiful wood and metal field camera. It has a bellows that can extend to 14in, further with an extra extension. It has front tilt, rise, shift and swing, back swing and tilt and a back that scan change orientation. The perfect landscape camera.

you forgot "with a digital back"
